Just want to know other's experiences. DD is 18 months and I need to travel for work for 4 days. She nursing in the AM and PM and an occasional middle of the night. I am 9 weeks pregnant and have very little milk left so she is mostly dry nursing.
I know every child is different but did anyone have a similar situation? Did your toddler still want to nurse when you returned? I have never been away overnight just the occasional evening or early morning before she woke up. I'm hoping it won't be the end of her nursing.

Re: Leaving nursing toddler for 4 days
That's so hard to say what will happen. I would have suggested that you pump to keep your supply in case she still wants it, but since you're pregnant that's a little different. Were you planning on tandem nursing, or were you going to wean her before the new one arrives? If you were going to wean her anyway, this will probably be the best way to go about it. It will give her enough time that she should forget about nursing before she sees the new baby nursing down the road. At 18 months they'll remember it a lot longer. If you're open to tandem nursing, I'd just offer her the breast once you got home, and hope she takes it. GL!
