Hanging out with my friends who had tons of siblings was so much better than having one brother who focused his pranks on me, the lonely target!

Lots of kids is the plan.

I grew up with two brothers and we plan to have 3 or 4 or our own. DH also comes from family with 3 kids. My brothers and I were pretty close in age which has probably influenced me wanting to have our kids without really big gaps between them. My middle brother (15 months younger than me, 2 years older than the youngest) was close to both siblings, where my youngest brother and I have often struggled with each other due to our 3 year gap.

I've always wanted 2. H and I both come from families with 2 kids. It kind of influenced me I guess. I just feel like 2 is all I can handle and responsibly afford.

I'm one of seven and DH is one of six. No way we're having that many! I love my siblings, and I'm happy being from a big family, but there are a lot of challenges that come with it, so I'll pass.

I don't think my siblings influenced the number of children I want, but did influence how close in age I'd like them to ideally be. I have a brother and a sister, 8 and 10 years younger than I am. I always wished we were closer in age.

DH is an only child, and that DEFINITELY reinforced my existing desire to have more than one. He is their entire world, and although that's sweet, I think it's unhealthy for them. We have had lots of issues with them being too intense about DS as well, which I think would be (somewhat) improved if DH had siblings. I don't want to do that to my kids when they have kids.

I have one sibling and wanted 2 kids. We have a 13-month-old and thought we'd have one more. But we got twins! So much for planning! But we are thrilled.

SS: I am 1 of 4 and LOVE having a large family and would love one of my own, but I don't think it will happen for us. 1, I am sick of TTC itself, and 2, our home and finances just won't work for a family that large I don't think. So 2 will have to be good enough and we'll rely heavily on the large number of cousins to make up for it.

I said SS: it has influenced me in that I don't want my child to be an only child, but the fact that I had 1 brother has nothing to do with the fact that I want 2 or 3 kids.

DH and I are both from a family of three and we both want three. I could dig 4 but that's because my siblings are either young or live far. DH's sent having any either so my kids are all one another will have. Also, DH is a twin and my brother is 19mo younger than me... So our first 2 are close, 16mo!

That's what we've done! Dd was 6.5mo when this one was conceived. She will be almost 16mo, provided this LO comes around EDD. I'll keep you posted on my sanity! However, I plan on TTC with #3, 6mo after this LO. Might as well get them in before I wise up.

I'm oldest of 2, & want more children. DH is oldest of 4, & wants less children. Apparently 3 is the magic number, in that perfect world. since we've been enjoying "us" time & started later, plus space, finance, etcetc might just end up with 1-2

My husband has 1 sister, 2 biological brothers, and 1 adopted brother. The only influence that our siblings had on us is that we wanted to go for even numbers above 2.

Initially, I never wanted to have any kids. Then my husband and I agreed to have 4. 1 child isn't enough in our view, neither is 2, 3 makes for uneven teams, so we agreed to four. Four became five, which became six, which is now seven. That wasn't part of the plan, but we love it.

@QSB‌ with your plan of an even number are you leaning towards evening it out with number a 8?

My brother and I had a great childhood but I always wished for a sister to share girly things with and he a brother, that is why I wanted more than just two kids. My mom has 3 sisters and they are super close to this day and I hope my kids can be like that

I have 2 siblings. But it's different in my case because my sister is 20 years older than me and my brother is 17 years older. So, I often feel like I have 2 sets of parents. I would like 3 or 4 but 2-3 years apart.

I have 3 sisters and one brother, and a step sister and step brother. Everyone in my family has large families and I love being apart of a large family but I'd rather have a medium sized family just because there's so much that goes along with a big family. DH has one brother and he wants a lot of kids. We agreed to 3 but unless he gets fixed after #3 we'll end up having more, that's fine with me but I'd much rather have just 3.

I voted SS because it all kinda depends. First, H's sibling situation has more influence on our decisions than mine. He has one older sister, and the one boy, one girl combo wasn't a great experience for him. So if we have a boy this time, there is a 99% chance we would go for 3. If we have a second girl, I'd be more inclined to stop with 2. But I'd still be open to 3. FTR I had two older brothers and I have been influenced to have kids close together in age because they are enough older than me that they never really played with me and we weren't close until adulthood.

My H and I both have one brother. His is a little over 2 years younger and my brother and I were 12 years apart (he was a surprise lol).
It influenced us a little because we both knew 2 was not enough, we've always wanted a big family. When we were first together I always said I wanted 5 kids and he went with it, now that it's more real he says he'd like to go to 4 and see how we feel lol

I'm the oldest of 3. I have 2 younger brothers. I have always loved it and I think 3 of us was perfect. However I would be OK stopping at 2... we'll just have to see what works for us.

I have one younger brother who is 4.5 years younger. I've always wanted 3 kids. With that said I will take whatever I can get up until 3 lol.
