Can someone please give me a link to the Ferber method? Or the cliff notes to it? LO discovered how to roll over so this now is way more cool than sleeping.
I've tried looking for it but couldn't really find anything really detailed. I think you have to buy the book... I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to execute this method without being thoroughly learned on it.

I never read the book, but based on readings (internet) and info from our ped you let LO fuss/cry for a determined interval then go soothe - without picking up.
When we started, we let Liam cry for 1 minute, soothe, maybe another minute then bumped it up to 2, 3, etc. from what I've read on here, ferber's intervals are 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, I believe and I just wasn't ready to jump that far in (which is why we started at 1 minute for a couple times...)
If you haven't already, read through the big sleep thread. A lot of ladies have posted what they've done.

We sort of fell into an accidental modified Ferber when we realized kiddo was getting more fussy and tired without getting closer to sleep if we picked him up when he was ready for a nap. He's never really been a rock/shush/walk to sleep baby, which in a backwards way bums me out as a mama who wants all the baby cuddles, but we do know we are lucky that he's an independent sleeper. If we put him down and remove the stimulation, he may need us to help him get comfy (read: plop him back on his back so he can start over) or pop the wubanub back in a few times, but if he's tired, he'll sleep. Keeping the monitor close at hand to see that he's just whining and winding down instead of getting more worked up and freaking out or in distress really helped us know when to pop in and assist/soothe him and when to leave him be.
I read the book but this is a really good cliff notes version: https://noobmommy.com/2008/11/to-ferberize-or-not-to-ferberize.html (haven't implemented it yet though... I'm scared to stop nursing him to sleep because it works so well... But when he wakes for a night feeding he doesn't like going back in the crib so I think the day is coming...)
We used Ferber with my first. I agree you should read the book. It's an easy read that you can skim through. It goes a lot into the science of sleep and why it's so important to put them down awake. Letting them cry is SUPER hard, but knowing you have research to back you helps get through it.
I'm definitely interested in the book, just didn't know if that's where everyone started since so many people on here were so informed about it. Thanks for the info ladies! We have just been soothing as needed when he goes to bed and usually end up assisting him with staying still, as he usually has flailing arms and tries turning on his belly. Lately I have been letting him on his belly and fuss for a minute or so as it seems to get him into "I just wanna sleep mode" quicker. But hubby has a problem with letting him cry more than 10 seconds :-)which is funny cuz as a newborn I would pick LO up immediately and DH would say "it's ok to let him cry a little" lol
