Feeding at night time and 4 month sleep regression

Ok so I'm in need if a little advice. Is anyone else going through this 4 month sleep regrsssion thing? If so how did or are you dealing with it. Also not sure if this goes along with the regression thing but as I'm writing this I Have been feeding my DD for almost 2 hours!! She just keeps going from one side to the other. I try to put her down to sleep and she wakes right up. Is she just using me as a binky? Anyone else have this happen to them? It seems to be every night. I'm lucky if I get her to sleep and down in her crib for an hour. She used to be such a great sleeper.

Also she won't take a binky and seems like she is trying to figure out if she wants to suck her fingers or thumb.

Thanks!

  • Been there, probably the hardest 2 weeks we've had, it does end.
  • Also, perhaps she's teething? DS stopped taking a binky when he started to teethe. He is in the four month sleep regression now, but he will take a binky.

  • Yea I do think she may be teething too. I guess we will just have to wait it out. Yesterday and last night was one of the worst times we have ha so far. She took half hour naps yesterday and then Woke every hour last night. Today she so far has cried for about 2 hours and then took a 30 min nap. It's so hard to hear her cry and I even try to pick her up but she still cries. I hope I'm doing this right. It feels so horrible!
  • Oh yes, been going through this for weeks now. I'm just trying to wait it out but gettin up very hour or two is exhausting. DD is using me as a pacifier right now. But she refuses all pacifiers.

  • Yes! My pedi said to stick to the routine that worked to get them to STTN before and they'll eventually come out of it. Pedi also said if DS is crying for no apparent reason for an extended period of time to give him Tylenol because they are probably not feeling well but obviously can't tell you.

  • @finny1019‌ nice to meet you. Welcome to May '14. We'd love for you to make an intro post, and be a lurky Lou to get the flow of this BMB. It will help you and us get to know each other, and avoid redundant posts.

Congrats on your M14 baby, and again, welcome to M14!

    How's that for nice @becole42‌ ;)

  • Sorry this post was redundant, after my initial post I posted in the sleep thread and have been following that. I'm still trying to figure out all the lingo sorry if I'm messing things up! What is BMB? And how would I go about making an intro post?

    BMB = birth month board.

Typically, when you are going to become active on a specific board, you make a post to introduce yourself, give a little info, and just let everyone know who you are. It helps connect your name, to your person. We are a community after all, and make connections here. Most of the regulars here have at least been lurking (reading but not posting) for nearly a year now, since we all got our BFP's (big fat positives, as in pregnancy tests). We strongly believe in a "to get support you must give it as well" atmosphere, and can be a snarky bunch of bitches. So while you may have just stumbled upon this BMB this week, we've been here for a while, hashing out big debates, sharing our life stories, and getting on a first name basis.

  • Alright thanks for helping me figure it out!

Also I'm glad I'm got a nice newb post :D

    Thanks again for the advice!

::forehead slap:: I don't understand how you had no issue creating this post all on your own, but you can't grasp the concept of starting another new post for your introduction. The sleep thread is for *sleep* discussion...

    I tried @becole42 I really did...

  • I dunno @becole42 I'm allergic to unicorn farts, and it's been pretty vanilla around here since the babies arrived.

  • Haha didnt realize I had to follow all theses rules. Thought I was doing it right. I wasn't lurking because I was in need of some help, that's why I posted in the "sleep" discussion before. Thanks for the support, I guess.

I'm being alarmingly nice. We should check my temp.

  • Haha wow that's too bad. Aren't we supposed to be supporting one another, instead of making me not feel so welcome?!

    Just a thought...

What's the big deal if I introduced myself that way anyway? I know now it wasn't the "correct" way to do it but who cares now.

Oh, you're hitting all the Bingo markers today. Keep going, we're interested in what you have to say.

@kat8805‌ no thanks I'm over this back and fourth BS with you, it's a little ridiculous.
  • @finny1019 Dude. Kat was just explaining to you how our BMB works. You have gotten off SO lightly. Seriously.

  • This is ridiculous! If this is how it works I'm not sure I want to be a part of it.
  • And I got off so lightly? why does anyone have to rude about this stuff anyway. Seems a bit silly if you ask me

    Oh noes!

  • This is the internet, and this is how the entire TheBump.com community works. Maybe BabyCenter, BabyGaGa or one of the other mommy forums is better suited for you.
    imageimageimage

  • Still not sure why new posters have to be treated not so nicely, but I think I'll stay out of this all and just read others posts. Thanks for helping to point me in the right direction. It's not the rules and way of doing things that are silly it's the way I was treated when I didn't do it correctly. Tame or not. There is really no reason for it.

Oh, how I miss drama on this board.

@finny1019‌, this was so incredibly tame. You have too much feels and are in dire need of rainbows and unicorns that shit glitter when people talk to you. BabyCenter will probably be able to provide comfortable accommodations for you.

@kat8805‌, we really do need to check your temp. Don't go soft on us now! ;)

ETA: Bye Felicia tranny GIF that's everywhere now, even though I've been using it for months. Yes I just pulled a "I liked it before it was cool"
