Crusty nipples, anyone?

That's right. I have crusty nipples and I don't know why. My whole boob (both of them) have been itching like crazy this week, not that that is a mystery, but now the tip of my right nipple is peeling and weird looking. It has not cooled off at all here so it's not the time of year for dry skin. So I'm wondering if it's just a Preggo thing. But this is my second pregnancy and I don't remember having crusty nipples last time. Any ideas?

Today I noticed mine have some buildup in each of the ducts. Could be colostrum or could be because it has only been about 6 weeks since I quit nursing my DS. I'm 11 weeks.

Mine started peeling a little. I like to think it's skin layers coming off so that the milk will flow freely! Oddly, I notice at the same time that my nips are oilier. I soaked them in the tub and carefully brushed all the skin off by rubbing my fingertips on them. Viola! No more peeling.
