Breastfeeding Discrimination

Today at Lakeside mall in Body Central, I was told I couldn't use a fitting room to nurse my baby while my sisters were shopping in the store.
The store manager who I asked to unlock a room for me looked at me with disgust, closed the fitting room door and said "you can't do that here!" and then proceeded to tell me there is a bathroom down the hall.

Be sure to NIP there!!

Re: Breastfeeding Discrimination

  • I'm fairly shy, but I swear if they gave me that kind of reaction I'd sit out in the main of the store. You're allowed to breastfeed wherever the hell you want. In MI you are excempt from public indecency laws while breastfeeding. So if you wanted you can do it wherever with no cover. (Granted I'd chose a cover, but thats not the point)

  • That's pretty rude of the store manager. Just for that comment I would grab a random shirt of the rack and tell her that I need to try it on. Sorry you had such a terrible experience. I just never asked when my son was born....
