All my insurance finally got cleared and we get to go see the baby for the first time since it looked like a little peanut, anyone know if I should expect a transvaginal or abdominal ultrasound?

I just had my NT 12 week scan, it was abdominal.

for my NT they did abdominal and transvaginal, but I think thats because they needed a very specific view for the NT and the baby wouldn't cooperate.. so most likely abdominal

yes, my NP told me they are doing a sonogram to check the due date!

So glad you were able to get everything straight with the insurance. At 13wks+ they will most likely be doing an abdominal ultrasound, occasionally they will do a vaginal if they can't get a good measurement. Vaginal isn't a big deal, its a small wand with a condom & some cold lube, more comfortable than a pelvic exam.
