Can I AW my craftiness for a second? Totally CD related. :)

I'm pretty proud of myself, and wanted to share with someone. Picked up some sale flannel from Joanns last week, and set out to make some cloth wipes. After making two or three, I really liked them so I kept going and now have over 40. I ran out of fabric, and am planning on going back to the store later this week for more. I figure on needing around 75 or so, right?

The woodland creatures one match our "theme" as we've been calling the baby Little Fox and his bedding and such is foxes. I really like the underpants fabric though since they are butt wipes. Haha!     :)

They would have been SO much easier if I had a surger and could just whip around the edges instead of sewing/turning/topstitching them all, but I figure they will last longer this way anyways.

Don't mind the weird mattress cover they are on. Sheets are in the wash... It's really not dirty like it looks, my apartment is just dark.

    Love them! I picked up some sale flannel prints at Joanns too but I never thought of using a solid for the other side. Looks great! Totally stealing that idea:)

    I liked the idea of a solid so I can try to mostly wipe with that side to keep the prints stain free. Not that DH will think to do that even if I remind him.... but a girl can dream, right? :)

    Not to mention that the solids were a dollar a yard cheaper. :)

    Those are very nice. But 36-48 is plenty. Also you can just zig zig the edge instead of surging

    I don't know if its my machine, but zigzag stitching around the edge of things never works out the way I want. and I really don't want them to fray at all because I'm OCD like that.... It would bother me to no end, so I just take the extra time to do it this way. Then no fraying. :)

    Also, do you guys really think 40 is enough? Is that with every other day/every third day washing? We have coin-op machines in a shared laundry room so I can't bring myself to wash every day, and may try to stretch it out to every third day if I can without causing buildup and stink issues. I guess I could always make more later...

    This is kinda what I was thinking, and I have about 30 pocket diapers and 25 prefolds with 8 covers.......

    I had about 40 and it was enough washing 3 times a week.
    I made 32 more for 2 in diapers and its gonna be way too many probably.

    Oh, good to know! Maybe I'll hold off making more until I figure out if I will want more. I have so many other things I want to make anyways. :)

    I started buying REALLY early from diapers lots on craigslist so I could get my stash the way I wanted before he gets here. With DD, I started buying about a month before, and it took a while to get the right amount since I almost only buy used. I did, however buy new Alvas this time since they are so cheap. I have around 20 Bum Genius Freetimes(which are actually AIO not pockets like I said) and 11 Alva pockets plus the prefolds and covers. I'll probably sell off the prefolds and covers to get more Alvas after kiddo fits into the pockets because DH HATES prefolds and doesn't want to use them.

    I'm not trying to discourage you from making more- they can be used for everything, just like disposable wipes. I don't think you can have too many.

    Oh, I know. I had no idea how many to make, so maybe it's good that someone suggest that I have enough. KWIM? I have a TON of other baby things I want to make before he gets here because I know that they probably wont happen after he is, so this just gives me more time! :)

    @Kelly11235  Would people actually want them though? I am planning on selling them in my SIL's Etsy shop, but if someone wanted some I would totally trade for diapers or PP. I was thinking that selling/trading things I made myself was probably against TOU though so I wasn't offering them here....
