My 8.5 month DD has always hovered around 30th percentile for weight while in 85-90ish percentile for height. She fits in 12 months Carter's pants length-wise but they are so big in the elastic waist. Any tricks to make them tighter or other brands that are smaller in the waist?
We have this problem too. DD is just finally reaching the 15th percentile for weight but is over the 50th for height. We cloth diaper so the fluffy bum helps a bit lol but I try to find pants with those adjustable waists - the elastic with button holes? They help a little bit. Sorry I can't be of any help!
No advice here. DD is 2, weighs 25 pounds and has always been in the 30th percentile. She's always been in 85th percentile for height though. The pants with the elastic and button on the inside help. I've gotten some of those at Carter's and Wal Mart. I think we are going to have a problem with pants this year. 12 and 18 month pants are way too short on her, but the 24 month ones fall right off. Maybe I'll have to find her a belt.

Hmm, I couldn't find the elastic ones with button inside for smaller than 24 months? DS thinned out so much after he turned 2 so he lived in pants/jeans with elastic/button inside. He was chunkier as a baby so I didn't have this problem at this age .
@hannahyejee I found some for you! I hope the link works. If it doesn't I found them on The Children's Place website. They come in 6 to 9 month all the way up to 5T.
@SandFHasse, thank you! I didn't even think of children's place. And I didn't know it was called "adjustable tab" lol, would have made my google search way more fruitful!
I was just going to suggest children's place. I got DD some jeans from there. I love elastic pulls in the jeans. My son has the same issue. Has always been average in weight and higher in height.
At H&M they have pants with this long, tight elastic top on them. They work alright. If you can sew you can try to make your own elastic button things!

My plan for DD honestly is just lots of dresses and leggings
