I buy the big container of Stonyfield Plain Whole Milk Yogurt. Then I mix in whatever fruits we fancy that day. I think its important to stay away from the yogurts with added sugars and get one made with whole milk.
With DD1 her pediatrician said to go with whole milk yogurt until 2 or so. I can't remember the exact age but but I know it was quite a while. they need the fat. (DD2 doesn't eat so we haven't discussed it yet with her pediatrician). We did the plain mixed with fruit to avoid sugar like others mentioned.
Our pedi said no Greek because it's hard to find in full fat. We do stone filed organic full fat plain yogurt and mix in whatever. I buy it for all of us.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
I've started giving LO Stonyfield Farm baby yogurt - she really likes the pear flavor. The container is 4 oz which seems like a lot so I've been splitting it in half.
That's what we used, except apple and blueberry. (I got a 12 pack at Aldi for 99c) I also split in half -- if I give him the whole carton, it fills him up and he doesn't want to nurse.
I've been giving him yogurt everyday (because 12 pack). That's okay, right?
They need full fat dairy for brain development. They will get whole milk at a year if you're doing dairy. Lots of brain cells growing so the fat is good for them. Plus reduced fat/fat free of significantly more processed than their full fat partner.

Full fat dairy is the way to go - besides the benefits of fat for brain development, vitamins A & D are fat soluble so keeping the fat = more vitamins. Reduced fat/no fat dairy have lower levels of both.
I didn't realize the Stonybrook baby yogurt that I bought had sugar in it. Argh. Why?! So I've been eating it myself. Like @shellbell3845 , I'm afraid of breaking her with food.
Uh oh. I didn't even look at the packaging to check my YoBaby for sugar, though it said something online about all natural sugars (chemycal free?? Idk). I think I'll buy some plain and add puréed fruit.
Ffwc: I was so busy scandalizing my mom because I bought yogurt with the intent to give dairy to my 7mo old that it didn't occur to me to check the ingredient list. So that tells you my priority.

But he loves YoBaby, and I love to say it!
I don't think it's added sugars I think it's from the fruit mixed in. The same way dehydrated fruit still has some sugar
The packaging can be deceiving.. fruit naturally contains sugar so a fruit-flavored yogurt would have more sugar than plain. However, some yogurt brands add extra sugar which isn't necessary for LO.

This - you have to read the ingredients list to know for sure whether there's added sugar/not. Dairy has sugar, as does fruit, so all yogurt will have some sugar.
Re: Yogurt. Dumb question.
She helped me with a similar question.

Fage is the best Greek yogurt. Yumm!
There is also evidence that full fat dairy is actually linked to reduced obesity compared to skim. Just something else to keep in mind as people switch to cows milk. Link: https://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2014/02/12/275376259/the-full-fat-paradox-whole-milk-may-keep-us-lean
