Have you or when will you

Leave LO overnight somewhere?

We have an annual holloween party on the 17th and Jack is going to my sisters. She said he can stay the night but I'm so nervous. He will be almost 3 months at this point.

Edit: words are hard

Re: Have you or when will you

  • My mom kept LO all day and overnight when he was 2 weeks old. We had a big party/raffle that we go to every year over Labor Day weekend. I really didn't want to miss it because we always have a blast and I so wanted to have some drinks. He did fine and I was happy to have a break.

  • For me, I'd be fine with it as long as it was immediate family watching him (my mom, sister, etc) . My company does a big Christmas party so we're thinking of getting a hotel room for the night. LO will be 4 months then.

  • I left LO with my mom for 3 days and 2 nights to be the MOH in a wedding when she was 4 weeks old. All went well.

  • We left him with my mom for a night last weekend.  I think it was more difficult for me than him.

  • my mom lives a few doors down and has offered to keep her overnight whenever on a weekend. I would do it now. I just need good timing. Thinking maybe the 11th...one of my friends turns 25 and is having a barn kegger. Thinking.of making a warm.fall drink and letting.loose
  • I will be in a wedding next March, when the LO will be 7 months old. I don't think I'll have any reason to leave her overnight before that, and I'm sure I'll be ready for the break by then.
  • I probably won't do overnight until nect summer, maybe with my parents. I may change my mind though.

  • DS1 - He had just turned 1 and we went out of town for a weekend to a wedding.

DS2 - Maybe for our anniversary in November. He'll be 4 months and possibly in sleep regression hell so we'll just have to see. I can't ask my parents to be up all night long with him.

  • Not until DS has a good routine established. I'm guessing not for a few months even though I could use a night off like yesterday.. !!

  • I'm not sure because we don't have anything coming up that would make it necessary. I'm sure by 4 months I wouldn't have a problem with immediate family watching him.
  • Ds was 9 months before he stayed anywhere overnight, and it was because I got married. He was still ebfing at that point, but we discovered that my stash was contaminated, so that was kind of the start of weaning him.

It will probably be similar with Amelia, but perhaps longer as I hope to ebf for a year this time. Not that I wouldn't leave her if I could. :)

  • We planned 2 nights away over Labor day weekend, my son was 3 months old and stayed at my mom's. This one I'm not sure, no plans. My mom offered to take both kids one night overThanksgiving- S would also be around 3 months, we'll see as we get closer.

DS is 22 months and hasn't spent a night away from me yet and I'm sure I'll follow suit with DD (also 3 weeks) I know I'm in the minority on here with this topic but just thought I'd chime in :)

  • Not overnight yet. I can not remember when we started with DD1. I think maybe 6 months?

We do plan on it for my 30th birthday in December.

  • @tamarar5‌ I know it's off topic but how did your stash get contaminated?
