Pregnant after a Loss

Loss milestone today

edited September 2014 in Pregnant after a Loss
Today (8w3d) is when my baby stopped growing last pregnancy. I have no reason to think anything is wrong right now, but it's really really hard not to think scary thoughts today. Especially since I had no reason to think anything was wrong last time (I was blindsided at my 9w appt). I'm trying really hard to keep busy until my next appt on Monday. How did you cope with those loss days?

Edit- I'm realizing in my siggy it says my loss was 8w2d. I had 2 US's done that confirmed the MC and I guess they measured around that day (8w 2-3d). So maybe my loss milestone was yesterday and I breezed right through it. Either way- is it Monday yet??

Re: Loss milestone today

  • Big ((hugs))!!
  • ((HUGS)) to both of you ladies ( @mpiemont‌ and @BananaBoat05‌ ). Loss milestones are rough. I wish I had some great advise to share, but I don't. I usually try to stay as busy as possible. I hope the day passes quickly and I eventfully for both of you.

((Hugs)) milestones can be so hard. Just keep repeating the PgAL mantras, today I am pregnant and I love my baby. This is a different pregnancy and baby from last time. Just because it ended badly before does not mean it will happen again. Good things do happen, even to us PgAL ladies.

  • ((HUGS)) Milestones are rough. I think by setting my own milestones and not thinking of loss milestones, that has been what helped me the most. As PPs have stated, every pregnancy is different, so I chose not to compare this one to past ones. Instead, I focused on what comes next-whether it was my 1st scan to make sure intrauterine placement at 5 weeks, then the HB scan at 6 weeks, then the NT scan, then the Harmony test, then the Anatomy scan, then VDay, then 3rd tri...Now, at 29 weeks, the next milestone I have my mind on is my Growth Scan at 31 weeks.

I'll be honest PgAL sucks and never really goes away completely. But by taking it one day at a time, one milestone at a time, I found it easier to breathe and not think about previous bad days.

Good luck to you on Monday! I hope the next few days speed on by!
