sunning diapers in the winter?

What do you ladies do in the winter when its snowy? I usually have to sun a few inserts...

Re: sunning diapers in the winter?

  • I sun them through the window. I haven't CDed through an actual winter yet since DD was born in January and we didn't start right away, but I did do it on colder days and it seemed to work. I don't think it works as good as being outside in the summer sun, but it works.

  • That's creative.... Thank you. I wasn't sure it worked through the window.
I know you can't get a tan through a window so I figured it would be the same.

You've never been on a road trip in during a Texas summer. You CAN tan through a car window, I looked funny with one dark arm and one glow in the dark white arm.

  • I asked my mom about this and she did confirm that my grandmothers did hang clothes outside sometimes in the winter when the weather was freezing but otherwise sunny. Not sure I'd try it with elastics and snaps....but I might try it with my flats....if I need to sun any this winter......if my fingers don't freeze from handling wet cloth that is.

  • I had a rug fade from UV exposure when it was in a south-facing room, back when we lived in the land of almost-perpetual winter.

You should be able to sun your diapers inside, unless you have special windows with UV filters on them.
