This is a weekly thread for runners who were due June 2014, that is posted on Mondays (I forgot to yesterday). All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. We had this thread during pregnancy, now it's time to lose that baby weight.
how were your runs and workouts this week?
notice any major changes since having baby? weird pains?
how are you managing your time in order to fit in workouts?
what's your favorite thing about fall?
Re: **Born to Run Junebugs**
I was only able to get out for one run this week but was able to improve my pace by 45 seconds, so I guess that's something

Just that I'm slower and sore the next day. But that's to be expected since I didn't run or workout throughout my pregnancy.
how are you managing your time in order to fit in workouts?
This is the biggest challenge. It's so difficult to find time to run during the week, especially since my LO is not on a schedule. Sometimes she wakes up at 5 a.m. and other times she wakes up at 7. By the time DH gets home it is dark out, and I can't run on a treadmill. Well, I can but I hate to! So I'm going to try other workouts besides running. We went to our first Baby and Me yoga class today, I'm going to try Stroller Strides, and I ordered a Baby and Me Pilates DVD.
what's your favorite thing about fall?
I love fall!!! I love the cooler temperatures, wearing sweaters, and that all of the restaurants serve butternut squash everything! Oh, and I love to go apple picking and go to the wineries every fall!
I got 1 in on the weekend but it was my longest one, 3.5 miles! Got to celebrate the little victories.
how are you managing your time in order to fit in workouts?
Not well. DH doesn't get home from work until 630 which is when we stay bedtime. Then I'm too hungry for dinner so I haven't done any running during the week. I try to run both sat and sun while DH is home.
what's your favorite thing about fall?
I love the crisp air, I can't explain it, but it feels so fresh. It always reminds me of cross country season too which was my favorite!
Noticing anything different: I have no stamina. It has taken so long to get back to where I was. Can I blame it in BFing like I blame everything else??
Managing time: what time? What's sleep? I go in the afternoon, after work. Sometimes we run with her in the stroller, sometimes my parents watch her while we go to the gym. I hate being away. But I'm not the morning type, andplusalso my gym doesn't open until 6, and my neighborhood is not the kind of place I want to run before light!!!
Fall: campfires, running outside, sweaters, chili, football!
I ran twice about 3 miles each time. I ran 4 half marathons from May to May before I got pregnant and then just quit and have been struggling to get back at it. Now that my 8 year old is at school all day and my 4 year old is at pre-school 3 days a week I can finally take the baby out in the stroller.
I don't have any pains yet waiting for my IT band to act back up.
After I drop off my 4 year old I head right out on the trail for a run w the baby in the stroller.
My favorite thing about fall is cooler weather, sweaters and boots, my favorite Apple pie shots, beef stew and running outside!
