When the baby drops does your breathing go back to normal or is this just wishful thinking and that doesn't happen until after birth?

Wishful thinking for sure. However the feeling that a kid is ramming it's way out of your vagina takes your mind off being short of breath.

Sorry lady! I agree that it is wishful thinking. You are going to choosing between breathing and eating until you deliver.

I did somewhat for me with DD1, but I have a long torso. DD2 and this one I am carrying low to begin with and haven't had any breathing difficulties so far.

It improved slightly for me actually. Made walking more challenging but I appreciated being able to breath for the most part!

Ugh. I get out of breath just talking and standing. Like BAM I'm talking to a customer and I get winded. Most look at me like im fucking nuts (granted) but hey, you have someone head butting your lungs from the bottom up!

DS dropped the last couple weeks for me; he was born at 38wks. It did take a bit of the pressure off my lungs/rib cage, but was definitely replaced by the feeling that he was going to fall out at any moment. Good times. I was just commenting to SO last night that I was looking forward to the end when the baby drops so that I can at least breathe a little bit easier...
