I am going to begin watching my friend's baby in a few weeks. For those who have BTDT how many BM bottles should she give me for a 9 hour day? How many ounces in each? Thanks!
it does take some trial and error to figure out how much to send, though. have her send more, smaller bottles at first (2-3 ounces) so there's less waste. maybe 4, 3-oz bottles? you can freeze the un-offered excess in freezer bags or label it and use it for the next day. she can also give you some already-frozen BM to have on hand for emergencies.
She's going to freeze in small amounts, and I have an extra freezer in our garage so I can keep some on hand to give if her LO needs them. I know it will be trial and error, but just curious if there was anyone who actually went back that early and how many bottles and ounces their LO used at that age. I returned when my LOs were 4-6 months, and they were well established on 5 oz bottles by that age. She's only 2 1/2 weeks now, and nurses all them time like newborns always do, so it's really hard to tell how often she'll need a bottle and how many ounces. Thanks ladies for your input.
I went back at 7 weeks with my daughter. I've always sent four 3 ounce bottles and she eats between 6 and 12 ounces depending on her mood over the course of the day. She's 3 months now
