Hi ladies,

I'm going to try to help out @southernyankeegirl. I hope this works! I've never done a check-in before and I have no instruction lol. I tried to personalize it, not sure if I missed anyone, I apologize if I did.

This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd Tri after 27 weeks.

I am flying home today from visiting my parents for my shower. It is totally surreal that the next time I will be up here is with a little person in tow! And because my parents are going to try to sell their house in the spring, the next time might very well be the last time to help them pack up. Crazy and rather emotional!

The shower was GREAT! I know I AW'd already, but my Mom did a truly fabulous job and it was a real treat to get to see all my aunts and my grandmas (at least the two sane ones - my Dad's Mom and my Mom's step-Mom - we aren't speaking to my Mom's Mom at the moment and that was actually a huge relief not having her there, though I know my Mom feels guilty).

After, my Mom and I went to BRU to return a gift that I will re-buy near home since it was rather bulky, and we found the perfect bedding set! The photos online do no justice, so I am glad we went and happened to see it in person because I am SO excited! We did buy fabric for the valance and skirt already, but my mom is going to tear out some of the pleats and use the fabric we bought to tie it all together. I am SO excited!

QOTW: We still need our stroller & car seat, but I have one more family shower the end of Oct where we might get that.

Right now I am mostly excited about our bedding set!

Hi everyone,

I'm 25 weeks and 5 days, going on 26 this week! Baby is definitely moving more and more

Nothing new for awhile, have my first shower on Oct 15th (it's just my friends from nursing school getting together, 10 of us max, should be fun!).

I scheduled a 3D/4D US on Oct 25th! Can't wait to see baby's face!

Lately my life has been consumed by grad school, have an exam every week in pathophysiology.

All of my patient's families have been asking me when I am due. I must really look pregnant for majority of people to ask :P I don't think I'd ever just ask lol.

QOTW: I know my mother in law is getting us a stroller/carseat combo, yesterday I did get one of my top items in the mail from someone who can't come to our baby shower (a really cute diaper bag!), overall I'm hoping to get more practical things than cutesy things or clothes. I would love to get a baby wrap, our monitor, and things like bed sheets! We did an amazon registry. Hopefully being all online goes well.

Hello everyone!

I will be 24 weeks tomorrow! V-Day!

This was one of the things that kept me sane last night. I already posted about this so I won't go into detail about my slip. I'm just glad everything is good. We also have our hopefully last anatomy scan tomorrow.

QOTW: I'm hoping that we get the important things. Ie, stroller, car seat, pack and play, etc. Our shower is on Nov 22 and invites have already gone out. So I've seen people buy things like car seat base or shower tub or the lamp. All good but I need the actual car seat and not just the base .. lol! I need the Important stuff too!

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well! To AW just a tad, H & I got back on Sun from our babymoon in SF, it was seriously amazing, though I realized two things. One, I'm glad we went now and not in Nov since it was already hard enough for me to travel like I usually do (a go, go, go kind of girl!), I got tired in a hurry! And two, needing a bathroom every hour while traveling is not as easy as you might think!!

To add to my AW, we had our A/S yesterday! Saw both babies moving and wiggling all around! The tech commented numerous times how active they are! We got to see every little bit of each of them, from head to toe, and we found out that we are team purple!!! We're having a son and a daughter! (OMG, it still melts my heart to say that!!) I am seriously on cloud nine! Not to mention this was the first week I've really started feeling them move. I am so beyond grateful every single day.

QOTW: I would love if people went in a group gift and got us the stroller - those suckers are expensive! Also, needing a double stroller makes it harder, more limited selection - I like the baby jogger/city select, it has all of the pieces you can buy to make it work for a double and I've heard awesome reviews.

I’m 27 weeks today! I can’t believe this is the last 2nd trimester check in! I can remember my egg retrieval like it happened last week, I never thought I would be getting ready to meet my LO in 3 months!

I passed my one hour glucose screening, and received my flu shot at my last OB check in. Next week is the first of my more regular check ins and I’ll be asking about my DTAP vaccine and a prescription to get a free breast pump through my insurance. I don’t know if I can breast feed (I had a breast reductions years ago), but I get a free breast pump through my insurance as long as I get a prescription from my OB. I’d like to breast feed if I can so I figured I’d get the pump and see how things go when the baby is born.

As far as my back and hip pain I’ve been going to physical therapy once a week and I’ve seen little to no improvement. Appointments consist of a heating pad for 3 minutes (I can do that at home) and stretches that don’t help. My therapist told me if everything goes well this week, next week can be my last appointment. I’m just going to go along with it because I’m sick of leaving work early and paying a co pay for something that isn’t working.

I feel like I’ve been slacking the past few weeks so DH and I are going to get back into preparing the nursery and getting important things sets up. We are signing up for a 5 week birthing class at our hospital which will start at the end of October and we are attending an open house next week at the pediatrician’s office we’ve picked. My sister got married 2 weeks ago and my family was so wrapped up in that (myself included), planning my shower fell to the waist side. By the time my mom started looking into venues she could only get a venue booked right before Thanksgiving. My mom is particular about where she wants the shower, what will be served, ect. I don’t agree with everything she wants, but I’m not saying anything since I’m grateful to be having a shower at all.

QOTW: my shower won’t be for another 6-7 weeks and I’m excited to get some of the bigger items like the pack n play or car seat. I’ll also be pretty excited if I open at Harry Potter items

Anatomy scan went well last week. I've got the DVD tucked away so DH doesn't cheat to find out the sex. We also celebrated our 5 year anniversary Friday. Can't believe it's been 5 years!!!
19w5d and feeling ok. Hip pain and sciatica are getting worse. I'm not liking the new insoles my physical therapist gave me to help my hips. I think I'm getting tendinitis from them. :-( I can feel your pain @Saintelizabeth‌! I'm hoping to transfer back to the therapist I worked well with a few years ago.
I'm really excited to get the glider we picked out for the nursery. My parents are getting it for us and I can't wait.

dp21 well we were told the cribs we wanted would be on backorder 10-12 weeks we decided to go ahead and buy them then we found out the company that makes them is going bankrupt and they couldn't guarantee deliver at all..so we choose new cribs. they will be here in 6 weeks. such a headache but it is all sorted out now!

jaytee16 I am going to use the city select double stroller for my twins- yep so pricey but I hear it is worth it! It has already been bought off my registry so I am thinking either my parents or my shower hostesses bought it for me.

I hit 22 weeks today! Nothing major going on other than more severe sciatica pain and sleeping is just starting to get miserable. I have the pregnancy pillows etc and I have an awesome bed but just toss and turn so much trying to get comfortable! My MFM appointment is next week and can't wait to see my boys!

Hi Ladies - I am 23 weeks, 3 days today... almost to V-day! Feeling pretty good - other than the fatigue when I am out running around a lot.

We are heading off for our last getaway tomorrow - London - looking forward to it since it is our favorite city.

We did select a crib and glider this weekend (still need to finalize on finish and fabric). We will do that by the 13th since the store has a sale that ends then! And we took our top 2 strollers out for a 'test drive', so we are close on deciding that too. And we found a rug that we both love. So it is starting to come together! Still need to find a dresser (we didn't like the matching one with the crib) and need to get all the smaller things - pack 'n play, carseat (which we already have picked out), etc. But it is now starting to really feel real (although the baby moving makes it feel real too!)

QOTW: Since I am not having a shower, I am not in a big rush to register. I am mostly registering for the completion discount and so my family and close friends, who keep asking what we want can use that.... but will only give the info to those that ask (ie my closest girlfriends have asked a few times, plus family who has been asking). We aren't putting any big ticket items - other than the carseat - on there since we don't want anyone to spend that much money on us. However my parents were visiting this weekend and they are insisting on getting us our main stroller. I told them they should get us the umbrella stroller instead but they are insisting. So since it will make them happy, we will let them do it, but I feel bad since the ones we are looking at are expensive (I told them and they said fine - it was either that or the crib - which is more expensive, so we settled on the stroller)

Hi everyone! 19 weeks, halfway point is just around the corner! I never thought I'd be able to say that. We had our anatomy scan late last week and the little one was wriggling around like crazy! Everything looked perfect and we got some amazing pictures. I think I might be feeling some movement now, but I'm still not 100% sure.

QOTW: We found some adorable crib sheets that I'd love to get at my shower (which isn't until January) but I might just buy them myself. So cute!

I am 15w3d... I am still on the Zofran but I am trying to wean myself off, although it's not going too well.

@ksgsmu My SIL borrowed the city double stroller from a friend when we went to an amusement park and it was AMAZING. My other nephew was in a cheap stroller and it sucked pushing him around and I'd always "volunteer" for the double stroller.

QOTD: Not sure yet. I started to compile a list because I was started to get overwhelmed. I am so overwhelmed about the car seat/stroller, so I think if I got that from someone, that would make me pretty happy (including their research!)

Hi everyone! I'm 24 weeks 2 days today. We made it to viability and it's such a huge relief. Hopefully the baby continues to hang out in there for many more week!

This weekend was my shower as well. It was so awesome. My parents and sisters made everything so beautiful and special. It was really great to be home spending time with my family. It's still so hard to believe that we're finally having a baby and I got a little bit emotional opening up the gifts and reading all of the cards. Now everything is home and unpacked and I can't stop going in to peak at the nursery - it starting to look like a baby actually belongs in there. I'm so excited to get stuff set up.

Tonight we're starting classes at the hospital. We have Infant CPR first and then we'll do breastfeeding, childbirth, and the hospital tour over the next few weeks. My next appointment will be for another rhogam shot and then the first glucose test. By then I'll be almost to the third trimester!

QOTW: We got so many wonderful gifts that I am so grateful for. I was really excited about the stroller/car seat - I love the style and pattern. We also got a ton of clothes and it was cool to hear everyone explain why they picked certain outfits. One thing that I still need/want is the diaper bag. I'm planning to get the Ju Ju Be backpack but I'm holding out for a coupon or Christmas!

I am 26w1d and news... @dp21 #Igotthebetes Sadly I did not pass the glucose test. I got a 181 so they bypassed the 3 hour test and diagnosed me with GD. Im so sad. I now check my blood 4 times a day and have a strict diet. The diet isnt bad- its mostly what I was eating before minus a whole lot of fruit. But being positive, its only a few more months. Just whiny right now- between pregnancy carpal tunnel and GD, Im alittle sad and sassy. Haha.

We had our couples shower last Saturday. It was amazing! My parents and family friends did such a great job. 50 people, food, drinks, twinkle lights around the pool, margarita machine for guests, and some people traveled 9 hours to attend. Needless to say- I was emotional. It was wonderful!

We rec'd the stoller travel system this weekend- so excited! And I cant wait for our bedding to arrive.

I got a 175 on the 1 hr and they had me take the 3 hour and I passed. Weird they didn't let you take the 3 hour.

Hello ladies!
20w1d over here and feeling pretty exhausted. Finishing up my last night shift for the week. DH and I are heading to Columbus, OH for a long weekend with the in-laws tomorrow. Looking forward to getting away & shopping

We had our a/s last week and baby looks healthy! Such a huge relief. Still sticking with team green, although it was very tempting.
Only bad news: I have a complete placenta previa. The geneticist dr said there is plenty of time left & it may move. I go back at 32w to check the status. Today, my OB called & left a message saying I am to be on strict pelvic rest "nothing in the vagina" but for some reason the way she said it made me chuckle. But in all seriousness, it has placed some worry in head.
QOTW: I am also looking forward to my diaper bag. I love nice purses and I am in love with the one from the land of nod. Although, this is a gift to myself most likely.

She hated being left while we ate...we started using it around 1 week old so she could join us (and so we could re-insert the binky everytime it fell out). It worked out really well for us and we'll be using it for this baby too. The RnP was the only way we could get DD to nap for awhile so that thing was awesome too.

Is this a brand of high chair? I'm having a real hard time picking one out. This sounds like it might work.

I will be 25 weeks Thursday! I can't believe I'm almost in the third tri in just 3 weeks! My last apt was last week all looked good and the babies are moving a lot! I love that they now respond to me when I touch my belly it just makes me that much more anxious to have them here tho! I resigned from my job Monday, I was going to lose my job anyway so I figured might as well go ahead and leave so I can focus on keeping my babies safe. I want them to stay put as long as possible! I have a shower coming up in two weeks, it is 2.5 hours away from DH and I. I have been planning on traveling to go to it because there are family members and friends I haven't seen in a while id like to see, but my sister called me last night and like poured her heart out a saying I should consider not traveling back because riding can cause preterm labor. But I really want to go obviously it makes me feel like if I go I don't care about risking it but my cervix has been fine the whole time except for me just being really uncomfortable. Any advice? Im still planning on going as of now because DH and I were planning on this being the last trip back before the babies come.

Qotd: we have our double stroller and one car seat and will probably just buy the other car seat ourself but, I hope I get the pack and play I picked out. Other than that just hope to get the necessities so I feel like we're ready when they get here

22 weeks this week

Time seems to be flying by. As for registry items, I requested no shower for the reason that not one of my aunt's or cousins from either side of my family showed to my bridal shower years ago (I have 6 aunt's and numerous cousins). I don't want my family spending the money on a shower that no one will show up to

My mom did ask me to do a registry so they can pick things for our Christmas gifts. I would love an organic mattress for the baby

Hello 2nd tri ladies! So glad to hear everyone is doing well. I am 20 weeks tomorrow! Can't believe it's half way through already! Critter has definitely been more obviously active and hubby finally felt something a couple of nights ago. I have been slowly letting the cat out of the bag and think I'm coming clean to my office tomorrow. Kind of nervous, but happy it won't be a big secret anymore. I received all my nursery furniture this past week but we decided we wouldn't be putting anything together for a while.
QOTW: just recently started a registry and it's completely overwhelming! Probably the stroller is my biggest item. Of course, I haven't decided on one yet. I think buying a car is easier! That and car seat...such hard choices!

Made it to V-day!! Woooo!! I'm like three days late in posting...oops =]

24+2 today! My shower is this weekend and I'm so excited!! The babies are doing great! Baby boy is measuring four days ahead and is estimated 1.9lbs and baby girl is measuring right on track and estimated at 1.8lbs! It's crazy to think I have over 2lbs of babies in me! Baby boy (A) flipped and is now feet down...kicking me right in the bladder. Baby girl (B) is still transverse with her feet to my left. Its nice that they're not kicking me in the same place! I start my bi-weekly appointments next week! 1hr glucose on Oct. 9th and another ultrasound on Oct 10th since my ob has zero appointments open the next week and I would rather go in a few days early than a week late.

QOTW: Honestly, I'm just excited for everything! I am hoping someone gets us the jogging stroller, but I don't have my hopes up too high since it is $190. Someone did get me the Double Snap n' go stroller though!! So excited for that one!! I've been stalking my registries...my husband thinks its cheating, but eh...I don't care =] I'm also secretly hoping someone gets us the Mamaroo...I've heard its like baby magic.

Well looks like this is my last check in for 2nd trimester check in! I'm 28w1d today and doing great! Can't believe I'm almost 30 weeks! I feel like there's so much more to do with the nursery and I only have 3 months left!

I passed my glucose test! Yeah!! I need to ask my doctor about the flu shot too. My shower is next weekend and I'm really looking forward to it! A lot has been purchased off my registery already! My umbrella stroller, high chair, car seat, pack and play, monitor, bath stuff, feeding stuff, and toys! I don't think anyone will be getting my main stroller since my mom chose to do my nursery furniture instead of my stroller. But I'm so excited to get all of it next weekend!

@mrsrichey11‌ - I am totally going to buy the Mamaroo used. I don't think anyone will purchase it for us, and I reallllllly want it. Besides, if I buy it used off Craigslist for $120 or so, I will probably be able to resell it for the same after I am done using it someday!

Hi ladies! @southernyankeegirl will you please add me? I'm due 3/18 with one baby, no teams just yet. (17weeks tomorrow)

I'm still worried every day that things will not turn out well. Low-level period-type cramps are intermittent, and the hb that we pick up with our Sonoline is usually around 135, which seems low.

And maybe I'm in denial that I'm pregnant, because after reading all of the previous posts I feel a bit behind - I've not researched a single item!

@chucktgirl‌ -- so happy to see you here!!! 135 is great! Normal is 110-160s, so you're right in the middle. That's where this critter likes to live, also. So glad you're doing well. I haven't registered yet, either. Don't feel bad :-)

Thanks for the hb reassurance! It never occurred to me that people would register this early. It makes me too nervous to think about. Critters can sleep in a drawer for a few weeks, right?
