So with my first baby my milk didn't come in until 3 days after he was born. How can I make my milk come in sooner with my second? Is it possible to make it come in earlier so that I don't have to worry about my LO not getting enough to eat right after he/she is born?

    You can't make your milk come in sooner.  Your LO doesn't need more than colostrum for the first few days and then your milk comes in when baby needs more.

    3 days is not a long time. Babies are born with a little reserve and colostrum is plenty for them the first few days. My milk came in at 5.5 days with #1 and 4 days with #2.

    I want to say it took almost a week for my milk to come in.  When their stomachs are that small, they just need the colostrum.

    3 days is perfect. Pick up a breastfeeding book and go read all of the stuff on KellyMom. Ditto the PP's that all a baby needs for ~ a week is colostrum - I believe the average for milk coming in is around 4-5 days.

    No. Milk usually takes 24-72 hrs to come in. All the baby needs is a tiny bit of colostrum those 1st few days.
