When did morning sickness start?

I didn't have any morning sickness with DD and I thought I was in the clear with this baby too.  Until this morning... I thought morning sickness usually starts early, not at 10 weeks.  Anyone else begin to experience morning sickness later in the 1st tri?

Re: When did morning sickness start?

  • Hang out on the symptoms threads, lots of answers to your question on there. Experiencing it at any given time is normal...it's not just reserved for the first 12 weeks.

  • Mine has gone away and decided to come back past 12 weeks :/ we are so so lucky!
  • There really hasn't been much in the symptoms thread but morning sickness can have no rhyme or reason. I have been feeling worse the past couple weeks and I will be 13 weeks on Thursday.
  • My nausea started at week 5, vomiting weeks 7-9 and now..it's been noticeably absent. Hopefully it won't last too long, but there's a lot of changes happening with baby and your body/hormones right now. FX things work themselves out and your body adjusts.

  • Mine started at 5 weeks and has really gotten bad in the last couple weeks. I'm really hoping things get better soon- this pregnancy had been so different from my others, which the nausea was better by 9 weeks, not worse.

  • Thanks for the replies.  Hopefully we all feel better soon!  It is crazy how each pregnancy can be different.
  • My vomiting started around 9 or 10 weeks and I think/hope it's done as I've been in the clear for 4 days now. (I'm currently 13w2d). Pregnancy doesn't make sense, symptoms don't make sense, so don't try to figure it out. Just ride it out and always stick close to a private restroom!
  • I thought I was in the clear... I puked last night at 11 weeks and 1 day!! Then barfed halfway through my doctors appointment today...and then had to have mom pull over on the way home to barf up the crackers n water my doctor gave me! No clue that you can get MS so late. I have gone so long without it - thought it skipped me. Good luck to you all expirencing it!!
  • I hear ya... I'm 12 weeks today and have only had some minor food aversions/appetite changes but no nausea or sickness to speak of (for which I have been incredibly grateful!).... until a few days ago when I randomly woke up in the middle of the night gagging! Then last night I had a wave of nausea strike while I was chilling on the couch and again this morning during my run. No vomiting so far but I'm not taking my chances. I've started paying more attention to eating regularly and staying hydrated to hopefully fend it off.
  • Mine started at 10 weeks on the dot. The vomiting came yesterday at 10w6d.

  • Mine started at 8 weeks.
  • I haven't actually physically vomited at all but the thought of certain foods and the smell of meat cooking is utterly nauseating! This started at about 5 weeks and I'm now 11 weeks and it's getting a bit better
  • The nausea is what prompted me to take a pregnancy test and has lasted until now, when I'm shamelessly laying on my bathroom floor typing this at 11 weeks 1 day.
  • Mine started at around 7 weeks... But no vomiting unless I take my prenatal and don't immediately follow it up with food!! At week 11 now and still not feeling great at night... Hopefully this won't go past week 12 (fingers crossed!!)

Hyperemesis Gravidarum started around 6 weeks. I'm 11 weeks today & still taking Zofran. When will it end?! I'm miserable. I hate taking the Zofran because it can cause birth defects but if I don't take it I'll puke at least 8 times a day. Taking it is better than getting dehydrated is what I tell myself.
  • HG started at 6 weeks and I'm now on Diclegis and reglan. I'm 12 weeks today and hoping it calms down soon. My OB says most women feel better between 12 and 13 weeks. Only a bit more to go!!
  • Had it from about 6 weeks, but it got SO much worse at the 10 week mark. My doc said it's completely normal. Your hormones are at their highest levels of your whole pregnancy from weeks 10-13.
  • Ugh... I'm 14 weeks and still throwing up.  At 13 weeks, my doc said I am "on the early side" of when a lot of women start to feel better, so I'm really hoping the next week or two bring good things.  Although I've been saying that for the last 2 weeks, so I am starting to resign myself to feeling like this the whole pregnancy.  Fingers crossed.
  • My MS started at like week 3, one of the reasons I decided to test a little early. Vomiting started around week 6-7 with it peaking while on vacation at 10 weeks. I'm 12 weeks now and it's been on again/off again for the last week. Really hoping its wrapping up!
  • I had it from 6-8 weeks  (may get it back yet though, currently 10w 4d)
A friend had it from 12 weeks till about 16 and another friend had it for the entire pregnancy.
