I've avoided posting anything on here because it all seems so daunting. If I break any of the rules I apologize!
My husband I have been TTC for about 2 years. We did 6 months of clomid and I responded to it but still no baby. We went to a specialist and did clomid, then gonal f, then ovadril and progesterone. After that failed cycle we had to wait a month because the follicles that seemed so promising before, hadn't gone away so my body wouldn't have responded to the meds.
In that month we had 3 pregnancy announcements, 2 from friends, and from my sister in law. Needless to say I was devastated.
This month we did clomid, gonal f, with estrogen added, and then ovadril and progesterone. We also did IUI yesterday. I feel like I am so much more aware of my body functioning now so I start over analyzing every little thing.
The progesterone is making me nauseated, dizzy, and light headed so I keep psyching myself out that I'm pregnant. Even though I KNOW it's way too early to tell. I just don't know how I'm going to get through this 2 week wait. And it doesn't help that our 2WW is up while we're on vacation with my husbands family.
It's all very overwhelming and frustrating.
Re: Newbie - IUI and 2 week wait.
Welcome and FX!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the board.
I'm not an expert by any means, but from reading your post, it seems like you've done 8 cycles of clomid at this point. I'm pretty sure most doctors don't recommend doing more than 6. That might be something you want to mention to your doctor. When you say that you're going to a specialist, does that mean that you're seeing a RE (reproductive endocrinologist)?

Progesterone side effects are a real mind fluck...sorry you're dealing with that. I've done WELL over 6 cycles with clomid and my RE is fine with it because I respond well and my lining is thick. If your having lining issues, I'm glad to hear you'd be switching it up next cycle. I know lots of PCOS girls here have better results with femara. Hopefully this IUI works and there won't be a next time! GL!!
