  No active infection, just a lot of fluid on both ears. I asked the ENT if he still could operate if they were infected, and he said it wouldn't be a problem. We were on Augmentin leading up to the surgery for his sinus infection, but if that hadn't been the case I wouldn't have been surprised if he had gotten another one between the visit and surgery.
  
  You may want to call the ENT to see
  if they will operate while there is an EI, but from what I gather they usually can.
  
  Sorry you think he's getting another one, but I'm glad you got your surgery scheduled. It's like having a new baby! I feel like I never even really knew this little guy until last week. Good luck!

  Thanks, @JoeLies! Seeing how much differently he behaves now is wonderful, but it makes me sad to know he was so uncomfortable that it effected him that much. I wish we had been able to do it sooner.

  @Mommyxtwo1113 Is it all worked out for C to go to daycare that morning?

  @cagoldi she should be able to go to daycare as long as the fever holds off. We are on day 23 so it could happen any day now. I'm crossing my fingers for sometime after Saturday.
  
  Daycare opens at 630 so hopefully I can do the dropoff because she will melt down if dh has to do it. Hah.

  Crossing my fingers she doesn't get a fever the next handful of days! Are you nervous at all? It will go well and it's such a quick procedure.

  I am so nervous. I have been through a lot with dd being so sick all the time but this seems different since I won't be with him the whole time and he has to go under I'm trying to be positive and just think about it as a trial run for the more intense surgery he will have in a few months.
  
  I'm so glad you have noticed a difference in A. Are his ears draining at all?

  One morning I saw a small amount of drainage on the shoulder of his jammies, and it was just barely tinged with blood.
  
  The nurses were really sweet, and I'm sure Luke's will be also. They let us go with him pre-op while they weighed and got his vitals, so we were only away from him for less than 15 minutes. When it was time to go to the OR he just decided to lie back on the pillow and hold his lovey. He had already been with the nurses for a good amount of time by then so he didn't freak out when they wheeled him away from us. The anesthesiologist got us right when he woke up so we could rush back there and try to settle him down.
  
  It's much, much harder the few days leading up to the surgery than the day of, I promise. Consciously you know it will be fine, but that doesn't keep your stomach from turning into knots. It will all be great and you'll be so thrilled to finally have it done.

  Thank you so much for reassuring me. I have been trying to focus on other things but it's been hard. I'm a little worried because he doesn't have an attachment item and doesn't take a paci so I have no clue how that will go but maybe I will take a toy he really likes. I'm bringing a paci just in case he has a change of heart.
