Ollie spent his 1st week in the NICU, and we had big trouble with latch for a few weeks after that, so he got lots of bottles of pumped milk during his first month. Once he started latching correctly, we stopped giving bottles, but now I'd like to be able to give him a bottle occasionally so I can, you know, leave the house. The trouble is, the last few times we've tried, he drank 1 oz quickly, and then started screaming and refusing to drink more. Any ideas? I'm sure he gets more than 1 oz at a time when nursing, and after rejecting the bottle today, he nursed fairly happily for another 20 minutes.
Have you tried different bottles? My DH feeds LO once a day, and when he used medela bottles he would have to stop every ounce and burp her. When he switched to the Dr. Brown bottles, he doesn't have to burp every ounce. So it could be gas?
