  I don't love it.  I think the only "month name" I like is August.

  Much, much prefer Octavia for a girl.

  There is a little girl named ryl.ei pronounced Riley in my DDs class.
  Yup.
  
  But I don't hate October and if I met someone I would think it was pretty, in a different kind if way. But I would never suggest someone to use it.
  
  I actually do like winter as a guilty pleasure name. But I'm not a fan of using months or seasons or anything like that as names.

  I would only like this if it was on a boy...or if...IF the nn for the little girl was Ocie (I had a great aunt Ocie) but that's IT!

  I'm a GP fan of October as a name. But I wouldn't actually use it or be disgusted if I ran into a kid named October. Not a fan of Toby on a girl.
