DD1 is going to be a "scary witch". My sister handed off a witch's costume for which she paid an arm and a leg, so I'm happy that it's getting use. I still need to get her a hat, because that disappeared in the transition.
DD2 is going to be a puppy. DD1 wore the costume a few years back, and it is sooo nice and warm and soft, and it tends to be chilly around here for Halloween.
I'm happy it's on a Friday this year! Our neighbors usually do a party to start, then we all go trick or treating around the neighborhood - either folks have their parents (kids grandparents) hand out candy, or you just leave a bowl out on the stoop. Our neighborhood is out of the way, so no one tends to TorT there except for the folks that live there.
DD is going to be a strawberry for her first Halloween. I put her in the custome this weekend for the first time and she looks super cute.
DS is on his second choice. First he wanted to be an Octonaut (Kwazii), now he wants to be an Astronaut. We got him the costume on Amazon for pretty cheap and he's loving the helmet so far. I just hope he wears it.
Last year he was a puppy and loved the costume until the day of Halloween, when he refused to put it on. We ended up just putting his superman shirt on him that has a cape attached. Who knows, we may do that again this year....
I'm being very lazy this year and let my daughter pick out Frozen costumes for her and her younger sister. Sully will be Spiderman as there do not seem to be any Team Umizoomi costumes out there and I don't have time to be crafty. My oldest wants to be a ninja.
I liked it when they were younger and had no opinions.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
I'm pretty sure DS will be Charlie Brown. He has a stuffed CB that he sleeps with all the time and everyone jokes that they look like twins, so I figured why not?
DD is going to be Mickey Mouse. She was Minnie last year. Apparently, I am going to be Minnie this year. I am hugely pregnant and I wanted something easy so I was going to do the school costume which is basically a black shirt with a spider headband. I was talking to DH about it and my DD said "No Mama. You're going to be Minnie." It's cute that she wants us to match.

DS1 is obsessed with Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates so I have to track down that costume or make something. DD2 is wearing her Elsa dress that she plays dress up in. DD1 wants to be a butterfly gypsy - still not sure what this exactly is though. I still have time to figure it out or give her a week and she will change her mind.
DD is obsessed with Peppa Pig. We thought about doing that, but all the Peppa Pig costumes look like Olivia the Pig costumes. And DD has no idea who Olivia is.
We had this grand idea to do a family costume - DD would be Dorothy, I'd be the scarecrow, DH would be tinman and our dog would be the cowardly lion. But, we haven't actually done anything to make that happen...
I only have one child and I love sewing/crafting, so I'm making DS a Minion costume from foam. So far so good! It's already a lot easier than his Angry Bird costume that I had to handsew last year. I used a pattern for a Pumpkin Costume and just made it red and sewed on the embellishments. I've got to milk these fun cute costumes as long as I can; DS is 6 and I can already see the excitement about dressing up waning.
Only the oldest has committed - she will be a ten year old fox (it is really hard to find costumes that don't look like things that belong in adult movies but are not totally baby).
The two year old doesn't really like costumes and wants to be a princess. Specifically, Anna. Since the seven year old wants to be Elsa, one might think this is perfect. I don't do princesses in general though, and particularly not for my DS....so hopefully he will commit to being a fire truck, dinosaur (both his sisters wore both of those) or something at the store that isn't a princess.
Elsa (DD1) and Anna (DD2). I'm pretty sure DD1 decided that she was going to be Elsa just after seeing Frozen for the first time last December. DD2 still goes back and forth between Anna and Minnie Mouse (she was Minnie last year), but my mom already bought her an Anna costume. I'm positive that she will commit to Anna when she sees it.
DS wants to be a safari tour guide (we have everything we need for this outfit) and he wants his sister to be a lion.
(He also wants DH and I to be a giraffe and zebra respectively but…..)
I hope to take the day off, chill out and enjoy. I scheduled DD's 30 month check up during her class parade, whoops. Do you think it will ruin her for life? I was just going to hang out with her for the day and go to DS's morning school parade.
DS1 (3 yrs) will be a tiger. My MIL made the costume last year and it still fits. DS2 (6 mths) will be a baseball with an old-English "D" on it if I can get my costume-making rear in gear. I'm planning to use plans for a pumpkin costume, but make it a baseball instead.
DS is going to be Batman and DD is going to be Wonder Woman. I also bought DH and I Flash and Green Lantern t-shirts so we can all be Justice League. DS is a huge super hero fan so he is excited about us all dressing up.
DD is a Jake nut, too. So she's going to be Izzy. She's been wearing her pixie dust since Saturday, so I'm hoping it survives. But the past 2 days, she's been saying she wants to be Minnie, so I may learn from PP that Izzy won't survive school and she will become Minnie for the evening. DS is going to be a penguin.

@Mustardseed2007 This is the first time I hear about a strawberry costume! Must be looking super cute for sure!

@gillianb32 it's actually from carters and yes, it's super cute!! Pink with green and white striped tights. I love it!
Re: Halloween
DS is going to be Cat in the Hat. He loves Dr. Seuss so why not?!

Older DD is wearing her Peacock costume (Gymboree) again. She loved it so much last year and doesn't want a new one... works for me
Younger DD is Tinkerbell.
