Are high waisted shorts. I went to Outkast last night and the amount of women and teenagers wearing them shocked me. Not a single woman (or teenager) looked good in them. And we're talking about a huge variety of body types. Seriously ladies, don't try this fashion trend. I also saw many leggings with crop tops and that is also a terrible look, even if you like leggings as pants.

DH hates these. It seemed every girl at the beach this summer was wearinv them and he would comment every.time. They're NMS but I don't think I would've even noticed the trend if he wasn't pointing them out all the freakin time lol.

I detest the high waisted pants trend, but I am happy that waists have moved slightly upwards. They were getting dangerously low for awhile there.

so I was trying on what I thought was a cute black knee length skirt at Express last month. I couldn't for the live of me zip it up even though it was my size. Then I figured out it was super high waisted. not comfy at all, so I didn't buy it.

This is definitely the sahm fashion unity horse because high waisted shorts are just awful. I don't think they flatter a single body type.

Outkast was amazing. So much energy. I'm in Atlanta so they really brought it! Goodie Mob and Erika Badu (sp?) came out. Andre said he thought this would be the last time they toured together.

Yeah, that style is not flattering at all. The worst are the really high waisted swim bottoms that come down low on the legs too. Sister, you are wearing granny panties.

See I think while they may mask a belly they make people look wider so they don't really slim the body. To hide a belly I think a well fitted mid rise jean with a shape wear tank underneath a top works well. Empire waists can be flattering (again as long as they fit well) as well as layers like cardigans.

I see a lot of high school girls wearing them, and I think they're really cute. They wear them kind of preppy with the blouse tucked in just in the front and flats.

They are definitely cuter than the plaid pleated skirts with the giant safety pin that were in style when I was in high school.

There is a world of difference between pants that sit a little higher and are definitely not low rise ( which sounds like what you mean, ) and the super high waisted trendy stuff.

Yeah, when it comes over the hips….too high for me
