*Sunday Symptom Thread*

edited September 2014 in April 2015 Moms
Hi everyone,
I couldn't find a recent symptom thread so here we go.

How are you feeling today?

I vomited tonight and last night. I'm 11 weeks pregnant and tonight is the 5th time in my pregnancy I've been sick. I've had quite my share of terrible nausea, but it doesn't usually lead to vomiting.

Now after two nights in a row, I'm worried this is a new pattern for me. It's happening 2-3 hours after dinner and unfortunately also after I take my prenatal vitamins. The last two nights I've had soup for dinner which is not what my stomach is used to me eating in my pregnancy so I'm hoping it's that so I can avoid it going forward and not have this become my evening routine.

I've learned some ways to keep my nausea at bay but the vomiting feels almost random and I'm stumped what's causing it- or if it's unavoidable. Feel kind of frustrated. I'm so sorry to everyone who gets sick everyday or multiple times a day. It's definitely no fun.

If anyone has any advice or insight I will definitely be interested.

Hope everyone feels well tonight.

Maybe try taking your vitamin at a different time during the day. Evenings are my worst so the thought of taking it and then makes me nauseous.

As for my symptoms, I thought they were easing up a bit, which was nice because I have a nasty cold. But the nausea came back with a vengeance tonight. Blah.

  • Around 11 weeks I noticed my MS increased after I took my prenatal at night. I've switch it out to a prenantal with less iron. The nausea has gone. I still get it throughout the day on and off. It's not as bad!
  • I thought my puking was over, it had been a few days, nope today it hit me like a truck, worst vomitting episode yet, I usually don't puke After eating normally it's before. Today I didn't hold breakfast or lunch down.
New symptom today, headache. I think I'm a little dehydrated. I drank half a bottle of pedialyte over ice today. It was yummy!

  • I found that I was nauseous a lot of the day, but usually vomited at night after taking my prenatal. I'd wake up from being asleep and have to race for the bathroom. Switched to the gummy prenatals last week and I haven't gotten sick after taking them at all.
  • Some days my nausea is full force, other days it's mild. I just try to keep zofran and jolly ranchers around, and they generally help! My biggest pain (literally) is my sciatic nerve. I didn't experience this pain until well into my third trimester last time so it caught me off guard and it's a little debilitating at times!
  • My nausea doesn't coincide with anything I eat really. But based on this persistent constipation, I think I'm dehydrated.

  • I was extremely nauseous the majority of the first trimester. I would get angry when people told me it would go away bc I definitely thought I had it SO bad and they must not realize I had it worse! Sure enough by week 12 I started feeling better! It would also happen at night and I was puking every other day. I am so happy that pasted and i am sure in a week or so you will feel great! Good luck!

These words are magical. It is my dream that there will SOON come a day where nausea will be totally gone. I know everyone's different but this is my hope of hopes! My worst was 7 and a half to 8 and a half weeks and I'm grateful that I'm at least not that bad anymore compared to that horrible week!

  • Take some ginger and milk thistle supplements when you feel nauseous. They always help me!
  • My doc said I should just take folic acid and lay off the prenatal vitamin for now. The iron is too hard to digest.
I'm 13 weeks and I'm still sick. Hopefully it'll get better soon!
  • So sorry your sick! I'm literally sick and throwing up at least 5 times a day every single day.. I found that hot tea seems to soothe the nausea even if it's just for an hour... I'm pregnant with twins so sounds like the morning sickness will stay a little longer. Good luck!!

Wow I feel for you. What I'm dealing with definitely has not been that bad. That's so exciting you're having twins! I hope your symptoms improve soon.

I've done much better the past two nights. I feel very fortunate. Thanks to all who replied to this thread. :)
