How much should I worry about this?

We are idiots and haven't had our cat vaccinated in years because he's an indoor-only cat. But of course tonight he was in a mood and bit me twice on the wrist before I got him away. I've washed the arm about 4 times with dawn soap and I've sent DH out for peroxide and Neosporin, but of course now I'm stressed to the max because of Google.

Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry about him not being vaccinated. Since he's indoor, I doubt he would have rabies. But many cats carry natural bacteria in their mouth that can be harmful when it gets under a humans skin. I've been bitten by my cat several times and was fine. But I have a friend who was bitten by hers and it developed into a cyst like thing that had to be drained. Since you cleaned it so thoroughly I would think you're fine and I would just keep a close eye on it for any kind of severe swelling.

Call your doctor. This def warrants a call. Sure everything is fine probably but worth a call.

And call your vet tomorrow and update the vaccines ASAP!!!

Keep a close eye. If it starts to get really warm, excessively red, or shows other signs of infection, make sure you call your doc ASAP for antibiotics. Keep it clean and covered. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about the no vaccines. Just the risk of infection. Good luck and feel better!

Were the bites deep? If they're not too bad, I think you'll be fine and you are taking the right precautions to keep it clean. But you can always call your doc to be on the safe side.

I'm going to ditto this!

It may be nothing, but I am an RN and I have seen some crazy cat bites in the hospital that started out as not much. Not to freak you out, but have a doc look at it just to be safe. Even if there is an urgent care center you can pop into quick; do that just for peace of mind

I called the doc on call last night and he sort of echoed the "you're probably fine, but if it turns red you'll need an antibiotic". Knock on wood, it really seems minor today, but I think my panic last night made me jump to worst-case scenario. I think he raked the skin more than punctured it, but at the time I'm all tears and "OMG what just happened?"

Fingers crossed we got lucky on this one.

Pregnancy is stressful. It's a happy stress, but holy cow.
