Would it take a new food to affect a baby? Last week I mixed some 1st foods sweet potatoes to my daughters oatmeal . Tha was Monday and Saturday night she developed a rash. Could they be related?

    Ya bc my daycare had actually sent us home saying it is hand foot and mouth. So I took her to doc n he said no it's an allergic reaction to something. The food didn't dawn on me until today

    I would say no. If her rash came out on Saturday and her last new food was given Monday, I would say it's highly unlikely.

    In my experience (DS has food allergies), reactions happen rather quickly.

    If she's at daycare, is it possible she reached over and grabbed a bite of someone else's food? The DC we used for my first child had a twin table and because the chairs were so close together, C was able to grab other kids stuff.

    At daycare she is still strictly breast milk so that couldn't be it. But it's gone now so who knows what it was . She gets frozen milk a couple times a week so who knows what I ate then. Thanks for the input ladies!
