3rd baby no movement felt !??

Hi there nearly 17 weeks, 3rd baby (4th pregnancy ) n I haven't really felt any definite movement. Anyone else in the same boat?? Should I be concerned?

Re: 3rd baby no movement felt !??

  • This is my 3rd pregnancy, one I had a late missed miscarriage at 16 weeks. I still don't feel movement but I feel I'm ingoring it, because I'm afraid. But if there is any movement it's not hard enough for me to actually realize it.

  • I'm not in the same boat but as long as you heard a heart beat at the last appointment you shouldn't be too worried. Maybe this LO just isn't as active or push back as hard as your other kids did. You may also just be too distracted doing mom stuff to notice when the baby is moving. I get distracted by da all the time and don't notice this LO had moved until I sit down and it affects his or her current position.

  • This is our second, and I didn't feel any movement until two days ago. I've had anterior placentas both times, so it takes a while for me.

  • Normally movement is felt sometime between 16-25 weeks. I wouldn't worry. Every baby is different.

  • STM here, and I didn't feel LO for sure until close to 18 weeks. I definitely feel him now but its still pretty sporadic and not consistent. This is a change from my last pregnancy when I felt DD at 16 weeks and felt her constantly from there on out. I felt reassured at my anatomy scan that he was in fact bouncing around like crazy and I just was clueless to the movements.
  • Thank you ladies!!! I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and hb was good and strong but baby was asleep nearly the whole time - so yes maybe very mellow. My first boy was at 18 weeks that I first felt him, last boy was so strong and active but of course I don't remember when I first felt him. So hard to relax when you've had a miscarriage in the past!! Love the encouraging posts
  • You may have an anterior placenta.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.  If you're really concerned, you can always call your doctor.  They could have you come in for a doppler to ease your worries.
  • This is my fourth, I'm 17wk 2d and I still haven't really felt any movement. I thought I may have, but pretty sure it was just gas. I wouldn't worry too much, easier said than done, I know.

  • I had an anterior placenta with my third and I didn't feel ANYTHING until 21 weeks. Even then I felt all the movement in my side or more towards my back. It was very nerve wracking because I felt my first two by 17 and 16 weeks
  • I'm 20 weeks today with my third and I feel nothing.

It's nerve wracking bc I've had two miscarriages previously. One was after I saw a heartbeat.

But everything has been good so far and I saw her wiggling around at the anatomy scan and I feeling none of it. So I know that I just can't feel it yet. My Dr also said it was ok at my last appointment when we heard the heartbeat and I asked.

It's still hard to not worry of course.

  • I'm 17 weeks and 2 days and have not felt anything either.
  • Same here and found out I have an anterior placenta this time. I feel tiny tiny little movements here and there but nowhere near what I felt with my first 2.
  • Had an appointment today and heard heart best good and strong on Doppler , bub even gave it a good kick lol but I never felt it just heard it. So all is well!! Very happy and relieved!
  • 4th pregnancy 3rd baby here, 21 weeks and just am now feeling movement for the past couple days! Give it a little more time :)

  • The placenta may be at the front which could explain why you're not feeling movements yet.
