Men are babies: sympathy symptoms

This morning I was awoken at 7:30am on my only day off because my guy just neeeeeded my cinnamon crumble coffee cake this morning.

I think the sheer audacity that HIS cravings woke us both up actually caused me to get out of bed and make it.

Has your partner had any new "fun" changes in the past few months? Headaches? Put on a few sympathy lbs? Mood swings?

  • DH had emotional roller coaster rides with me. It's usually pretty funny.

  • @Ducktale‌ sorry for the cliche generalization, certainly not my intent to perpetuate a tired stereotype. I typically avoid generalized statements but the typically-mature-man next to me this morning took on a new out if character "baby" persona which inspired the post.

    Hopefully no harm no foul?

  • The only thing Dh is doing is eating everything I eat. If I have an idea of what I want no matter how weird or how crazy a combination he'll sit there and eat it to. Been like this so far this whole pregnancy.

Of course, I know you didn't mean to imply anything about all men.

  • My DH is also useless when sick. I've had a terrible cold for a week and still had to cook, clean, and chase after the two kiddos while being pregnant. DH just came down with the same cold and you would think he is dying! Lol.
  • DH is eating pickles and ice cream! Not "together" but one right after the other.. Eewww! I thought I was the pregnant one! Lol, I'm sure he doesn't feel weird about it either. He was NOT allowed to work out (by me) while I'm pregnant! He's a Lt. in the fire department (and still looks good) but the guys make fun of him. And he doesn't care! (Ahhhh I love him!)

So you don't let him work out or you don't let him work out around you? Just curious and I don't want to misunderstand your meaning. If you don't want him working out at all can you please explain why?

  • DH is taking advantage of my 10 PM milkshakes, middle of the day pigs in a blanket (right now!), additional snacks, etc. and has put on 6 pounds!

  • I love my DH- he usually says such positive things to me but I think he has PGAL brain. In the beginning with my MS I had a couple days that I vomited less than 5 times and he said: "You weren't really sick today, are you sure everything is okay?" The way he worded it was terrible! Now he tries to word things better but still ocassionally messes up. Then he gets so upset and offended and acts like a teenage girl when I confront him. I think his emotions are out of wack.
  • I think my DH has sympathy symptoms. But I don't appreciate the crabbiness!!!! He has gained a lot of weight, but I guess he is retaining water.
