We have been trying for a second baby for over two years. I have just been diagnosed with uterus didelphys (two uterus). My Doctor recommended IUI. What does everyone have to say about it?
DD born 2/1/2011: Pregnant on the first try! Happy, healthy breech baby
Began TTC sibling 8/2012
MC Twins 6/13/2013
3 rounds of clomid Summer 2014
Normal sperm analysis 8/2014
HSG revealed Uterus Didelphys (Two uterus) 8/2014
Referred to specialist, who found I had been misdiagnosed
Well, it's on the easy end of the treatment spectrum.. I get why they would rec IUI in your case, they have more control of where the sperm is going. Idk exactly what information you're looking for? The whole thing is relatively painless, you might have some period type cramping, but it's nothing crazy, the procedure lasts about 2mins, and they have you lay there for 5 to 10mins after, etc.
So.... That's about it. Pretty uneventful.
Good luck.

They had my DH drop off his specimen about an hour before hand so they could "wash" it and get the best sperm. Then we had breakfast, came back and they did the IUI. It's not painful at all and very quick. They just insert a long thin catheter through your cervix and inject the sperm directly into your uterus. Mostly you just count ceiling tiles and listen to the nurse on the phone through the wall while you lay there with your butt in the air. Good luck!
I just had my first one about 20 days ago and it was a breeze. I had a horrible HSG experience so I feared the worst. I took clomid for 5 days (not bad, hot flashes and a bit moody but not too bad), then injected the trigger shot (scary at first, but I built it way up in my mind. It is a tiny needle).
The IUI was a breeze. It was like a pap smear. I had some cramping later, but I'm not sure if it was from O or IUI. I was super relieved at how easy it was.
It's the usual next step if you've been trying unsuccessfully on your own for awhile. Good luck! As others said, it's an easy procedure. Will it be a medicated or unmedicated cycle?

Good luck. Like everyone else said it is very simple and super fast. I feel a tiny bit of cramping when they put the sperm in there but otherwise it is pain free.

12/12/14- saline sono shows two polyps
2/15- two uterine polyps and "schmutz" (RE's words) removed
As PP said, pretty painless BUT in your case (I'm not sure, just speculating) it might take some work to get the catheter in the right place? I, apparently, have a tilted uterus and cervix. It made my HSG really terrible. It has made one of my three IUI's pretty uncomfortable as they dig around to get it going to the right place. But really, nothing too bad.
Re: IUI- What can I expect?
