This weeks grumpathon..

Thoren is sick. Like, nearly took him to the hospital sick. Can't sleep, won't eat, snot everywhere, coughing, eyes pouring, throat inflamed, completely congested, and totally miserable. All because my freaking grandmother (Satan in a 600 pound b*tch suit) can't cover her dang mouth when she coughs or sneezes, and spends the entire time me and my mother are preparing food, looming over the counter, hacking and gagging all over it. I am starting to get this plague she has visited upon us, so is my mom, and my sister, the toddler is MISERABLE, and i am so annoyed. Probably unfairly, but when you have been up for nearly 48 hours with a miserable, sick, panicked kid, your capacity for charitable thinking decreases exponentially with every time your child runs up to you crying because he can't breath. The night before last it got so bad that he was red faced, gasping for air, tears running down his face, throwing up because the mucous was just pouring down his throat. It was the most terrifying night of my life, and if DH hadn't managed to calm him down, we would have been in the hospital. We took him to the doctor and she gave us the wait and see treatment, and said there is a nasty bug going around and we have to just wait it out, which i get, but man, this is HARD. I am diffusing eucalyptus, peppermint, and lavender almost constantly, going to try and get him to drink some warm broth in  bit, we're making jello for him, and the pedi suggested warm apple juice with a tablespoon of honey, and i am going to try that. I just wish i could fix this for him. Sigh.. Hope you ladies are having a better day than i am.

7/5/11 MC at 8 weeks. 5/17/12 BFP, twins EDD 1/20/13! 6/20/12 Baby B's heart has stopped beating. 8/31/12 Baby A is a boy! And is perfectly healthy and thriving. 1/19/2013 emergency c-section, Thoren is perfect. 3/1/2013 told i will never be able to conceive again. 12/16/13 told they were wrong!

    Ugh, I'm so sorry. I guess I'm a bit of a crazy mama but I would have probably down the er route. Glad you waited since you got the wait and see. 2 months ago DS woke me up crying and was struggling to breathe (croup-like) but it scared the shit out of me. I took him to the er and we got nothing but 1/2 night of sleep and an $800 bill. Good luck mama, hopefully everyone start to mind their manners with germs.

    Sounds like everyone is miserable. I hope he starts feeling better soon. Sounds like you need to find a kind way to put some space between you and your grandmother. I'm such a crazy momma when it comes to the health of my child. I've even told my H to go away when he is sick to keep J healthy!

    We had a bug like that go through our house two weekends ago.  DS and I are still coughing a little in the mornings.  I hope it passes quickly through your household.  I think we were feeling a lit better after 3 days, and pretty much back to normal after 5-7.
    Me: unexplained infertility - annovulatory DH: testicular cancer survivor!! TTC since June 2009 BFP May 11, 2012 EDD January 24, 2013 June 1, 2012 - first u/s, heartbeat 124 BPM!! June 22, 2012 - heard the heartbeat 9w1d 181 BPM!! 24 hours of labor, 4 1/2 hours of pushing, and IT'S A BOY! Welcome to the world my miracle, we prayed and prayed for you, and we can't believe you're here!
