NCDR: Essential Oils

Hi All,
The mention of EOs on the diaper cream thread got me thinking.

Who uses EOs and what are your favorite blends? I just recently got into them and love it. So far I've just been working with simple one ingredient dilutions but I'd love to start making some good blends for topical use.

I've been using rosemary and calendula in the lotion that I make for DS's eczema.

And on the fabric tag in our diaper pail, a drop each of lavender, tea tree oil and eucalyptus.

I like this idea. Our diaper smells like... well exactly what everyone else's probably smells like.

  • I don't know what you're talking about ;)
  • You can also put some EO on a cotton ball and put it inside of a salt shaker, and live it on the pail,or in the car.

  • Lots of places @mamalamb10‌. I like the NOW brand. Inexpensive :)

Heath food stores. Online. The crazy people.
  • That's a great idea for a salt shaker in the car. My car is way stinky. I use lavender a lot. Eucalyptus when someone has a cold. I put rosemary and lavender in my deoderant.

  • I also like now because it's inexpensive and for my purposes it's just fine.

  • I've heard mountain rose herbs is a reputable source but haven't had a chance to try them.

Mostly I've bought in store at Pharmaca.
  • I put the cotton ball with EO on it in my car as it is, no salt shaker.
  • I buy my essential oils, beeswax, shea butter, and other oils I use in chapstick and butt cream from Mountain Rose Herbs.

  • Love the salt shaker idea!! I've heard plant therapy's website is good and has sales making them very affordable but I haven't tried it out myself. I have young living, spark, Edens garden and aura casia. I was lucky enough to be gifted a lot of them but I buy mine at our local health food store

  • This tread got me thinking. Could I mix some tea tree in with coconut oil and candulla cream to make a decent diaper cream?

  • I love lavender and eucalyptus is my diffuser at night. Smells great and it's supposed to help with sleep. I used peppermint for my morning sickness, that helped a lot.
