I need help from creative ladies!

Okay ladies, yes, this is important enough for a new thread, I promise ;)

The room that we are using as our nursery has low vaulted ceilings like in the photo below.  (That is not our room, I stole the image from google.)  I think that the cribs will come up as high as the vaulted portion or at least close to it.

I have my heart SET on using monogrammed wall hangings similar to those attached for the twins, but I can't figure out to how make it work with the vaulted ceilings, because there probably won't be room behind each crib.

Does that make sense?  How can I put the monogram by the correct crib?  Decals?  Nail the monogram to the wall instead of hanging it?  HELP this creatively challenged FTM!

  • If the crib is too tall to allow it over the crib on the wall then you could hang it next to the respective crib or yes you could nail it up to get rid of the extra space from the hanging wire or string or whatever. You kinda solved your own problem with your suggestions. It's best to just try different things until you find one that best suits the idea you have for it.

    Some options:
    Get smaller monograms
Paint on the wall or vaulted portion above the cribs
Nail above using decorative nails or glue jewels or stones to the nail heads after hanging
Go really high and hang them from the highest part of the ceiling by wire or ribbon.

  • What about hanging the monogram on the cribs themselves? I think maybe Pottery Barn does one on the "front" face of the crib (the foot of the bed so to speak).

  • I would do decals. Etsy has some great shops for decals. They are easy and you wont have to worry about them falling off or being pulled off.
Another easy fun option would be stencils

  • I like the idea of decals, and I also like the idea of hanging them on the crib itself. I think a decal would be easier because it eliminates a hole in your wall. However, if this isn't a concern, I might nail the hole in the wall so that your kids can keep them and move them as they grow.

Hell, I clearly can't decide, but I LOVE the idea.

  • I liking either the decal idea or the idea of hanging them on the cribs themselves.
Would I put the decal on the vaulted part? I would definitely want decal over stencil so that I could remove it easily. Wait....how easily to the decals come off?
I guess we could nail the wooden monogram to the crib so that they wouldn't be as much of a hazard?

I love all your ideas, ladies! Thank you so much!!!!!

  • If the side on your crib is solid, we used those scotchbond hanging strips for Anna's and they were incredible. So much easier than nailing to level things because there is Velcro between the two parts so you can move it if you screw up just a bit.
