Has anyone experienced vanishing twin syndrome and know how it affected hcg levels? My levels went up by only a 120 in 48 hrs when they should have doubled so from around 2000 to 4000. I thought for sure I was going to miscarry again or it was ectopic. Went for ultrasound yesterday and baby is measuring at 7 weeks 3 days and heartbeat of 148. Soo surprised! Dr says may have been vanishing twin syndrome. I'm still very nervous cause I had two prior losses this year and one being an identical twin pregnancy.
I had a vanishing twin, and my hcg got pretty wonky. After that I asked the nurses not to tell me the levels unless there was something really wrong. I wish my doc hadn't kept tracking the hcg, as ultrasound are much more meaningful. Focus on the good scan and don't worry about the rest!!
