Is it your first month charting on FF? If so, they give you a very long time to test because they don't really know your expected cycle length yet and are conservative. I don't think you should wait that long though!
I will confess... I did test last night. Stark white BFN, of course. I just really don't think it's going to happen this cycle- the odds are just too slim, since I O'd on my left and don't have a left tube. It would truly be a miracle if I got KU this cycle.
According to TCOYF, if your temps remain elevated for 18 days, you are most likely pregnant & can rule out some chemical pregnancies, so that is probably why it's having you wait.
I'll admit, I've tested at 14 dpo, but I've always retested at 18 dpo with both pregnancies to double check.

It's my second month charting, but the first month I actually O'd.
That's probably why then. It doesn't know how long your LP is so it's making you wait all the way through the longest possible LP before it recommends testing. Next cycle FF will suggest that you test one day past your LP length from this cycle. Hopefully there isn't a next cycle though. GL!
After 2 m/cs, dx October 2008 with hetero factor v leiden & mthfr & low progesterone; third time was the charm - BFP 3/19/09 on first cycle of clomid.

That makes sense then, they don't know your lp length yet and probably just don't want to air on the side of caution. I wouldn't worry too much about a BFN last night, 9 dpo is very early, even with fmu, at night it would be virtually impossible! Just curious - how do you know which side you o'd on ... just a feeling, or does your ob actually monitor this?

It was a monitored Clomid cycle, so I had an u/s on day 12- I only had one follie, and it was on my left ovary. To boot, that was where I had some horrendous O pains- Never have noticed O pain before, but apparently, when I O on Clomid, I get them.
