Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Intro

My name is Julia and I coming over from the March 15 board. About 10pm Tuesday night I noticed some bright red blood when I used the bathroom. Up until that point I hadn't even spotted, so my boyfriend and I decided to go to the er. On the way to the er blood started to gush out of me. After an ultrasound and examination we were told that I was indeed experiencing a miscarriage. Because of the amount of blood the doctor felt that a D&C was my best option and I also needed a shot because of my blood type (AB negative), so that is what we went with. This was my first pregnancy and my first experience with a miscarriage. I got home from the hospital yesterday morning. I am slightly achy, but nothing too terrible. The doctor told me that there was nothing I did, or nothing I could have done to prevent this, unfortunately something was wrong genetically. The doctor said I am very healthy and I should wait one cycle but we can start trying again once we feel ready. I have a question, does anyone know how I change my homepage on the bump, for example when I sign it is telling me how far along my pregnancy is, I would like to be able to change that since that makes me feel sad when I sign in. Thank you.

  • Also, is there a way I can change my name on here?

  • Firstly I'm so sorry for your loss, sending you big hugs. To change your status go to the home icon, there will be a green bar that says update status, open it and your account page will show. You can then select trying to conceive and it will stop updating your pregnancy status. It's sad seeing the updates :(. I'm not sure how to change your name though. Good luck with your recovery

  • Thank you all.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss!

I'm disappointed they made you get a d&c. It sounds like you would have been fine without one and passed it naturally.
  • I was told the D&C was because of the amount of heavy bleeding, the doctor felt that I would of ended up needing it anyway. Honestly, since I had never experienced this before I was overwhelmed and felt ok with going with the doctors suggestion.
