I thought I remembered a discussion here about play kitchens, but now I can't find it. If there was one, can someone point me in the right direction? If not... anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you!
We have several. An old Step 2 one (one of the larger ones) that is outside. It was an "outside" one when I got it. We have those cheap ones that cost us $25 on Black Friday that makes noise for the burner. BUT you can always forget to put batteries in. Here it is. https://www.walmart.com/ip/American-Plastic-Toys-Homestyle-Kitchen/5913442
And we have the round table with the oven in it. The center opens to store food. IDK the name and I am to lazy to walk upstairs. I like that because storage is nice.
I do think Step 2 will last a long time. If you can find a used on on Craigslist of your local FB resale page, I would get a used one.
Am I the only one with a kid who really didn't give a crap about the play kitchen? DD1 was just not interested in it, ever. She liked playing "picnic" with all the play food but ignored the kitchen entirely. We gave it to a thrift store a year ago to make room in the playroom since they take up so much space.

I don't have any older kids, but when I was a kid my sister and I LOOOOOVED our play kitchen. We played with it ALL the time for YEARS! I remember still playing with it when I was "too old" to be playing with it. lol
Great, now DD2 will probably love that sort of thing and we will have to buy a new one.
I remember a few years ago, my sister ordered some fancy pants play kitchen for the kids for Christmas and I stayed up all night trying to put the dang thing together without much luck. So my vote would be for plastic or ikea where not too much assembly is required. #lazy
We got the kidcraft vintage one at a consignment sale for $25! Bitches were all up on my shit trying to steal it from the hold area. It's consignment season so check those out, I saw a few at our sale in great condition. Both our girls love playing with it!
