I absolutely love the nn Jo for a girl. My hub however loves long elegant names. So I need some help ladies, any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
I know the spelling doesn't match, but what about Georgia, Georgina, Georgette, etc? Jo would work as a nn. Although Josephine and Jocelyn are my favorites.
Another idea I is to do like a 'j' first name and 'o' middle name. I'm obsessed with Julietta or Juliet and then Olivia, Ophelia, etc. I wanted to do that with the name Jacey like a nickname for a first name with j and middle with c but I don't know...
My name is Joanna. If we have a boy, we have to name it after DH (he is the fifth believe it or not)! So, we are naming our little girl Joleigh. It is pronounced like Anglina Jolie. Jolie means pretty in French. I like the alternate spelling. I also love that people call me Joey, Jojo, or Jo.
Possibly not as great of a suggestion, but there might be a few names with "jo" in the middle that could be used then. The one I thought of today was "Marjorie." I thought of it when I saw a "people you might know" on FB-- it was a friend from middle school and I noticed the "jo" in the middle because of this post. haha.
