How about 1 more name poll?

We have two girl name options: one I really love, one DH really loves. Middle name will be Louise after MIL's mn.

Also, is Anna too close to Norah? Is there anything else wrong/weird about these names? Lay it on me!

Eta: Anna may have nn Annie or Ann if that makes a difference.

I voted Anna Louise because I think that's a beautiful combo, but I do think Anna and Norah are too close for siblings. If Norah is your DD's name I'd nix Anna. Chloe is cute too, so you can't really go wrong.

  • This one was hard. I love the name Chloe but Anna Louise flows better.

  • I voted Chloe Louise. I like Anna, but I'm a fan of mixing a more old-style name with something a little more modern.

If I have a girl the middle name will probably be Louise, since that's my middle name and my mum's middle name (and ironically, my paternal grandmother's middle name), but the first name will probably be Marion, so I'm not sure if I want to pick something more unique for the middle.
  • We have an Anna and I get compliments on her name all the time. We also call her Annie, and she calls herself "Na-na" :)

  • To me, Anna and Norah go well together for siblings. Also love how Anna Louise flows.

  • I'm not a fan of Chloe at all. Anna is classic. I love it. I also don't think it's too similar to Norah.

  • I don't see the name Chloe aging well. It's cute for a little girl, but not sure about adulthood. I love Anna. Classic and simple.

  • I think they're too close, but prefer Anna to Chloe. Maybe start over and see where you get? If it's still Anna then so be it. But I can't imagine yelling both of those all over the house and not getting tongue tied.

  • Hubby likes chloe because of the show 24. I've never seen it. This name is so not my style. But I thought I'd see what you all thought in a non biased way.

I've loved Anna since I was a little kid. I think we are leaning toward that since it holds more meaning to me. Plus DH's gma was Anita (perfect way to honor). I was afraid it was too similar to Norah but if we mostly use a nn I think it could work.

    Thanks everyone!!

  • @krendel1990‌ @sarabell52‌ I think they have similar sounds for sure. We mostly call Norah "Nor" or some other weird nn lol. I foresee us doing the same with this one. My dog Gatsby gets in the mix too!

  • I think both Anna and Chloe could be considered too close to Norah. Anna and Norah both have the 'a' ending. But, Chloe and Norah both have the long 'o' as the main vowel sound. They are all 2 syllables too. So, basically if you are going with one of these names, I would take either. However you could make the same similar argument against either IMO. Personally I prefer Anna with Louise. The similar endings of Chloe and Louise make it tounge-twisty to me.
