Numbers On Ultrasound

On my ultrasound picture I took home today, it says 8.8cm on it. Is that the measurement of my baby or uterus? That would mean my baby is about 3.5 inches which seems big for me being 10 weeks.

    I'm pretty sure my son measured 7 cm CRL when I went for my first u/s with him. I thought I was 10.5 weeks and they bumped me ahead to 11 based on measurements. I may be wrong because that sounds big even for 11 weeks... I'm gonna have to go dig up that u/s now.

    The numbers on the left hand side are settings on the US machine, not related to the baby. Mine says 8cm and I was trying to figure out what it could possibly mean, and finally found some info after extensive Google-Fu.

    Okay, yeah I just went and found it. At 11 weeks, my son was 4.16cm. I don't know where I got the 7 from because it's not on the side, either (it says 14cm over there and that's definitely a machine thing; it also says 30Hz). 

    Did you get multiple pics or just the one? Only one of the pics I got that day has his measurement on there. It also has little markers on his head and rump, with a dotted line connecting them, to show what exactly was measured.

    ETA: I'm getting all gushy now looking at this little baby that turned into such a sweet and amazing little boy. Super excited for my first u/s with this one on Tuesday!! :x

    My 8w5d baby was crown to rump (CRL = 2.13cm)

    The ultrasound picture also had a 7.0cm/1.0/25Hz line on it - those are the machine settings.


    Your 8.8cm could either be the ute dimension or the machine settings.

    At 10w 4d with my first daughter the baby measured 3.4cm. I think that's probably uterus!:)

    That 8.8 is a machine setting number - not a measurement.

    I don't see any measurements on that photo other than the 10w2d in the top left corner which is probably the gestational age based on your due date.

    the calculated size and age stuff IME is usually in the lower right corner of the screen when they are actively taking measurements.
