Beta too low??

My dr just called with my lap work and said my beta was very very low (but didn't tell me a number) and that it was either too early to really tell or that it would be a "bad pregnancy". Her tone changed when she told me that and said she was sorry and that I needed to come back in next week and do blood work again. I'm scared because this is my first pregnancy and I have PCOS and I really don't know what to think. I really expected the results to go one way or another, and now that I've had a taste of possibly being pregnant, I'm scared that something bad is going to happen..
Anyone else been through something similar? Kinda beside myself right now..

I'm so sorry you're going through this. How many DPO are you? Have you continued to take tests? Have they gotten darker or lighter? I hope you're just really early and your betas go up.

I'd call back and ask for the actual number, as well. Was this a 2nd draw 48 hours your first? It more "important" (if you will) that your numbers double in that time, rather than how high or low the numbers.

There is a huge range of "normal" HCG numbers, so I wouldn't worry too much at the moment. I know that's hard, though, so big hugs.

Betabase.info is a good resource for seeing the variation.

I would definitely call and ask the number. And also ask for a repeat in 48 hrs instead of a week, I wouldn't want to be worrying for an entire week. FX for you!
