Clumsy...

Just thought I would send out a friendly reminder to be careful and watch where you step, how much you lift, look both ways, etc. I had a fun little accident on Sunday that landed me in the ER and although it wasn't really even a clumsy moment (which I have had plenty of lately) it was enough to scare me straight. So be careful ladies! We're a little lopsided these days ;)

Re: Clumsy...

  • I trip on nothing at the best of times so the reminder is always appreciated :P

Seriouslly, I think I clip a doorframe at least once a day.

Hopefully you are fully recovered from your accident

  • Totally almost did a split last night slipping on one of the kids toys. Hope you are doing ok!
  • A few days back I tripped over a plastic floor mat thing and fell at work.  Fortunately, I only had a bruised knee.. and a bruised ego haha.  I'm much better about watching my step now!

  • I haven't been "clumsy" so much, but I haven't quite figured out how much space I now take up. Every time I stand at a counter, open a drawer, etc, I hit my belly. Also, I can't squeeze by people in a crowd anymore and I always forget that! I don't fit into tight spaces!
  • I keep finding myself being super careful when walking somewhere I might slip. I feel like it would likely happen to this klutzy girl, and recovery without Advil would be a pill.

  • Glad you are okay! I am always watching for obstacles that can trip me up (my husband LOVES to leave shoes and clothes on the floor in the middle of everything). I almost tripped down the stairs at my babysitting gig last week... holding onto that rail while carrying an infant is a MUST! I also don't take unnecessary risks... like today the tortoise got out of his enclosure and it's raining cats and dogs outside but I decided NOT to pick him up (he's like 35 pounds) and try and awkwardly put him back in his house. Felt bad leaving the cold blooded guy out in the rain (he's a desert creature and the NW definitely isn't his natural territory... don't get me started-- he's my MIL's pet) but there was no way I would risk falling or straining myself, and then dropping him in the process!

    Be safe, ladies!

  • Thanks ladies! I am ok and a little less sore today than I have been since Sunday. My neighbor had an open PVC pipe in their yard and it was covered by grass, so when I stepped I slipped right down into it and gashed my shin pretty good. Would have worked great as a bear trap or something! 3 stitches later... oh, but the best part is that it happened right before our hospital tour, so we just got to go early and check out the ER too ;)

Keep being careful and watch where you step!!

OUCH!  what the heck was a PVC pipe doing in the ground without a cover?  Especially one big enough for an adults leg to fall into.

  • They connect to our sprinkler systems and unfortunately sometimes you mow over them and break them. They're very annoying and fortunately/unfortunately not often visible.
  • Yup! Fell down the stairs a couple of weeks ago! Scared the crap out of me (and hurt)!!
