Weight loss ladies! (9/25)

How are we doing? Anyone get going on the movement challenge?

New Challenge: Eating Healthy is Soda-pressing

Yeah, I know, the title is terrible. I'm a dork. Anywho, the challenge this week is to cut out soda. If you can cut it completely, awesome! If you can't live without your Diet Coke, at least try to cut down on your intake. Soda is a huge inhibitor to weight loss, so the less you drink, the better!

  • I just started going back to the gym this week. I did 45 min of cardio each day and I am pooped after two days! I guess this is what I get for getting lazy during my pregnancy.

@jillyjill1026sr‌, the best thing you can is show discipline when out with your friends and make healthier choices. It's hard but the more you do it, the easier it becomes!
  • So, I'm terrible and didn't do my own challenge, mostly because my back is screwed up. I started physical therapy on Monday, though, so hopefully it'll be better soon.

I had my monthly weigh in yesterday and amazingly I'm down three pounds. I had a crappy month, so it's a miracle.
  • Good morning! I did at least 30 minutes of cardio 5 days this past week (3 of the days were 45+, so I guess I average 30 mins a day, all 7 days??). I started this new thing, it's kind of stupid, but anyway- anytime I go to the bathroom, I do 10 squats after. It's been 3 days and my legs are feeling it.
I'm starting to feel discouraged because I do great, see results, fall off the wagon while out with friends, and then spend the week trying to lose the same 3-5 pounds I just gained. I'm in a rut and I'm not sure how to get out of it, besides giving up my social life. Any suggestions are welcome.
This is so funny!  I just started this 2 days ago.  I do 10 squats before I pee!  and I'm drinking so much water I pretty much pee constantly!

I'm on day 13 of my 24 day advocare cleanse.  Still down 6 lbs.  Wishing I felt a little skinnier and lost some more weight by now.  I just keep telling myself to be patient.
Between work and the kids and DH never being home...I feel like I have no time to exercise (excuses I know), so I have been pushing them around in the stroller to and from the park to get moving.

My goal is to move around more...it's just hard to find time.

  • My in-laws were here (left yesterday) and I was in the ER this week, so I totally did not meet the challenge. I was able to maintain even with all of the yummy Spanish food. The trip to the ER did have me up 5 pounds, but I'm guessing that was fluid retention because it's gone now.

I've been put on a medication for anxiety for the first time, so I'm trying to adjust to it. Today is day two and I still feel really weird and have no appetite. I can definitely do the no soda though. I'm just so tired from the meds, working out seems impossible. Being outside feels good, so we're spending a ton of time out in the beautiful weather. It's not a workout, but im not sitting around.

I'm thinking about taking a break from logging my food on MFP. I've been crappy at it the last week or so anyway.

  • I don't drink soda so challenge done! :)

After moving and unpacking and getting the house in order I found a gym close to the house- so I am a new member! Been getting up everyday at 7am to get there and get an hour-hour and a half workout in before DH leaves for work! Saturday and Sunday are going to be my late workout days since DH works at 6am.

Today I ran 2 miles and did arms and abs-- my obliques are killllllling me. But I like it.

Been eating super clean and lean, baby! I haven't been tracking it on Spark People (which usually makes me crazy-- I have to log food). I've just been per-portioning snacks and such so I don't over do it. Also coming home after the gym and eating a monster breakfast, medium lunch, and small dinner (not stuffing myself).

    Keep it up ladies!! :)
  • @zbeesma86 I went to my OB to have the Essure procedure and had a reaction to the lidocaine local anesthetic. It was crazy. I was very dizzy, confused and upset. My vitals were fine, so not an allergy, but just a sensitivity. I couldn't understand what the ER doc was saying. It was scary, but I went home about 4 hours later and felt fine the next day. Unfortunately, no Essure, so now I have a tubal scheduled.

Thanks chickadee!!  Hope you are feeling better soon to resume your normal activities! How long are you on the anxiety meds for?
  • I'm not sure. I've really been in denial about it for so long saying "it's not THAT bad." I've had it pretty much forever. I don't really know what normal is, LOL. Hopefully we find a med that works and at some point get on a maintenance dose.

I'm sorry! Just tell your doctor if your meds make you feel weird. I have super bad anxiety at random times. When we were moving, during unpacking, before a big trip, anytime Zoey goes to my parents-- it's like I can't stop wondering about all the what ifs and such. But it isn't a daily thing. It's like a 3 or 4 day thing then goes away. It's super crazy.
  • I was down a pound on Tuesday. I've since stopped tracking due to stress at work but I will get back on track tomorrow. Hopefully, the damage isn't too bad.
