I need to vent/whine a little

So a little back story on me. I procrastinate. I start projects and never finish them. I have a DH who is currently working 7 nights a week (graveyard shift) and a rambunctious 18 month old. I am also a TV-holic and love to watch football and hockey. I have things I want to do, and likely plenty of time to do them after DD goes to bed at night, but I spend my time sitting around with DH until he goes to work. By then I am no longer motivated to do anything I want to do.

This is not a funk I am in, it is just generally what I have done and still do. DH helps with the basic things around the house (cooking and dishes). I do the sweeping every other night and the laundry every weekend. On top of that I want to be able to organize my clothes, finish my wedding scrapbook, start and finish other scrapbooks and watch my nightly shows. Oh and I'd like to get back to reading something other than "Hand, Hand, Fingers Thumb".

I am not a list-type person. I try making a list of the things I want to do, but if they are bigger projects (ones that aren't meant to be finished at one time) they stay on my "list" and I feel like I failed and stop again.

I also have a hard time doing workouts because I can't leave the house if no one else is home. DD is the type that as soon as she hears movement in the house she is up, so waking up early to do a workout is not a reality. I have plenty of DVDs and fitness games at home and still never do them because I am afraid of waking her up.

I know suck it up and just handle it and stop making excuses. I guess I am just feeling a little defeated by myself lately and needed to get it out. Thanks for listening. Have some treats!

I've been useless lately too. DH has been away since September 1, and without him it's hard enough just getting DD and I presentable and to work/daycare, that in the evenings and weekends I do the minimum and let the mess build up. It disgusts me, but I'm way too lazy to do much about it. As I type this I'm staring at a table of dirty dishes....

I'm not quite sure how I am either @Nieko0423‌ , but we are getting through. She is finally feeling better thankfully, as dealing with a healthy two year old is more than enough to keep my hands full. Now that my betas are gone, I at least have enough energy to get through the day, and it finally feels like there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Thanks @lemonblossom3‌! I know I do put a lot of pressure on myself. Most nights DD is in bed by 8 and I'm usually up until midnight. Dishes are done every night by either myself or DH. Then every other night is sweeping (we have two cats and wood floors so it's needed). When that's done I shower and don't feel like doing anything but watch tv.

I like your suggestion of doing one thing a night though.

@Nieko0423‌ Well I'm sure you know by now I feel your pain. I literally want to send a message to every mom I know and say 'how the heck do you all balance all of this?' DS will be 2 in dec and I still feel like I don't have it together, especially when we talk about my house.

I have a hard time committing to doing something every night, but I do make a weekly goal. Last week was the toddler bed (nailed it! Haha), this week is getting our freaking laundry/closets in order. I also have to constantly remind myself that I need to do my best to finish this week's project, but if it's not done by Sunday to not beat myself up. Since I work from home, I have days I can do more and days I can do less, but I so spend time each night thinking briefly over what I have accomplished and what I can do tomorrow. ie, today I spent an hour on the closet and got a lot done, so tomorrow I will spend an extra hour on work. Sorry, this got long, but I definitely suggest at least a weekly goal and trying to do something daily to get to it.

I like @lemonblossom3's suggestion of picking one thing a night and focusing on that.  I know I always am so much more motivated to do things earlier in the day and by nighttime I just veg out and don't do anything productive.  I have a whole list of projects to do too.  Maybe I will make a list and pick one small thing on it a day too. :)
