I am coming over from the April 2015 board. To be honest I am still in shock from the events of the last couple of days. Last Wednesday I went to the doctor and everything looked great, I was in the middle of my 8th week. The doctor told me everything looked good and said she would see me at my 12 week visit. Fastfoward to Monday, I came home from work and had just the littlest amount of bright red blood. I called the doctor and they got me in for an ultrasound and found that the baby no longer had a heartbeat, The doctor informed me that a D&C would be the best way to go (siting my profession- teacher). My D&C was the morning. I feel like the last few days have been a bad dream. This was my first pregnancy and will try again just not sure when.
Question: For anyone who had a D & C.... how long did you stay home from work?
Re: Intro
I was in the April group as well.
I didn't have a d&c, but found out last week that there was no heartbeat. Just over two weeks after the heartbeat stopped, I miscarried naturally. My doctor wouldn't do a d&c on me (my first pregnancy as well).
I work full time too. I'm not sure how flexible your schedule is, but it is possible to go naturally. You will know when it's starting. You'll have enough time to get home. Make sure someone is with you though... I ended up passing out and was unconscious (completely not reassuring you!) from losing too much blood too fast.
My best friend had a d&c and was basically on bed rest for a month! Out of work for A month because she got an infection and couldn't do much of anything. She said it hurt to move.
