Breast pump question

I have researched for a few weeks now and have it narrowed down to 2 options: the Ameda Purely Yours or the Medela Pump in Style. Both are covered by my insurance and have similar mixed reviews. Have any of you ladies ordered one of these brands and had any issues or complaints?

Everyone that I have spoken with and all y friends (I am the last to have kids) have all but one told me to go with the madela. I even asked when I went to register at BBB. The consultant there said madela too hands down. They got more returns and complaint from ameda. If you go with the madela you can get the carrying tote and cooler bag as well. Its about $99 and includes a ton of stuff in the kit. It was the first thing I put on my registry. A ton of people told me to get the car charger too....

I used the Medela PISA with my son (nursed and pumped for over a year) - loved it. I chose it at the recommendations of friends and the lactation consultant at my pedis office (they actually sell them there). I get what pp is saying about a closed system, but with the Medela I didn't see anyway milk could get into the actual system. It is possible for moisture to get into the tubing and not dry out, but as recommended a few drops of alcohol and voila - all done and that can happen even with a closed system. I just took it out of storage for use with this baby - it's in fine condition.

Pretty much this. I used the Medela PISA with my first and plan to use it again. It was convenient and I never had any issues with it. I only got water in the tubing from cleaning the tubing.
