  • I pronounce Madeline with a long i sound. If you're going for "Lynn" which I believe you are, I prefer the third choice.

  • Yes. I would pronounce mad-ah-lin. With the "Lynn" not "line"

If that is the case, then the second and third options are moot. The only option that pronounces the name they way you want is Madelyn.

  • I had a coworker named Caroline. Everybody pronounced it as Carolyn. She said that in the uk, where she is from, everyone says line not Lyn. So maybe it depends on where you live.

With the name Madeline, personally I would say lyn not line. But maybe my Canadian accent influences that.

  • Our friends LO's name is Madeline and it's pronounced "Lynn". I never thought to pronounce it "line". I voted 2, I don't like the others, and I think 2 can be pronounced either way.

  • I always assume Madeline is mad-de-Lynn not line.
  • Madeline is my cousin's name and it's pronounced -lynn at the end. I've heard it pronounced both ways. That's by far my preferred spelling.
  • Love the French spelling of Madeleine
