Morning ladies.
Not a very exciting morning unless you count the blowout that got absolutely everywhere, including A's highchair. So gross. He's taking spoon refusal to a whole new level, which wouldn't be a big deal if he weren't taking medications that need to be mixed into his food.
@Mommyxtwo1113 Good luck at the ENT today!
Re: Wednesday chatter

Good news is we will be done with the Augmentin and ear drops Friday. It's frustrating though, just feels like we do nothing but fight with him about taking his medicine. We are still waiting for them to schedule his CF test. On Monday the ENT said if they hadn't called me by today to get in touch with his office and they will follow-up.
@j0509 I wish I had thought of that!
@MelloChello You can make a meal out of cookies.
Hope you have fun today, @Rebeccag428! Happy Birthday!
T is constipated again, because the kid finally started eating more solids - a whole pouch on Saturday! Woooo! However, the sad screaming every time he tried to poop is terrible.
We also had dog training today, the pup did so awesome!
I somehow have to finish a PowerPoint for my new part time job. I don't know how you working mamas do it!
We were mixing it into applesauce. I hadn't wanted to give him juice but maybe I will see if I can dissolve it in water with just a splash of apple juice and see if that works.
@CeeShellz I hope all is well with L. Did he have the plastibell? I didn't know we were supposed to keep doing it. Don't beat yourself up over this.
Eta there's a reason I know they can do them.in the office
So the ENT recommended tubes for Luke (no surprise there). We will call to schedule the surgery in the morning. I'm struggling with it more than I thought I would. I can't seem to get over them cutting a hole in his eardrums
Happy Anniversary @CFox815!
T is having the worst time ever popping. He literally fell asleep on me from all the effort. I feel so bad and don't know what to do for him
They said to start slowly, but they encouraged me to offer him formula pretty much right after he woke up. He was really upset so I don't think he even took two ounces. He took an almost 3 hour nap when we got home, then once he woke up he had more milk and some oatmeal. Some babies refuse to eat or drink much apparently, but once he was up from that initial nap it was like any other day.
Will your H go with you? I know all babies react differently but A was hysterical when he woke up. Sobbing, had trouble catching his breath, very disoriented, etc. I only tell you this because I think you really want another adult with you. Obviously it's hard seeing your baby like that. Add to that the challenge of changing his diaper and clothes while he is hysterics, you get the idea. My dad was there also. While I was signing discharge papers and whatnot my dad held him and rocked him while Pete got the car and pulled right up so we could just get out of there right away. Once he was outside and saw the car he calmed right down, I guess just because it was something familiar.
You want to dress him in warm, comfy jammies. Bring a lovey and a paci or Wubbanub if he takes one. We had to leave the house at 4:30, so I just put him in the outfit the night before, changed his diaper, and got on our way. You want to make sure to have a few burp cloths and an extra set of clothes in case he throws up.
They will probably give you drops to put in his ears. This isn't really much of a pain because he doesn't seem bothered by it.
Is Luke on Zantac for his reflux? If he is, he will have to skip his dose that morning and then just have the first one later that day.
The procedure is so quick, she could be there only a few hours. It depends on a lot of factors like how quickly he wakes up and how efficient that surgery center is, but we were in and out in less than an hour and a half. From the time we left the house until the time we got back was less than 3 hours.
Also, just something to consider, maybe a friend or family could take her or come to the house until you get back?
Since they can't eat or drink they like to do them early, so depending in when they schedule you DC may not be open yet. Surgery was at 6 am but we had to be there by 5.
@cagoldi the Dr. said that they schedule surgery between 7a and 10a for tubes. DC is about 10 minutes from the location where the procedure would be done. DC opens at 6:30 am. So if we absolutely had to DD could come with DH, drop me and L off then DH could run her to DC. I will likely schedule it a little later if possible to try to make sure DC is open since they really are our only reliable option. My mom is an hour away from us, but in a pinch it could work. However, she tends to get nervous when DD is sick so if she's feverish that's out. We don't have any other family around besides my sis and she's traveling for the next few weeks.
As far as DC and a fever- they won't keep her at all if she's over 100.9. They will however, keep her up front in the office if I need extra time to come get her. (they have done me numerous favors like this when I was working). The director would probably even drive her over to us if she needed to. She's amazing!
In all honesty if DD is running a fever I will have to reschedule because I have to take DD to get the blood drawn immediately once the fever hits this time and that's in the city. UGH. I think it would be too hard to have both of them miserable at once and on top of that have to take L to the lab and have DDs blood drawn.
Holy. Never. Ending. Doctors.
On a good note, this ENT will probably be the same one who we use for DD if it comes to that. He was at least familiar with the syndrome and felt DD's glands at the appt for Luke today.
