Hi, I'm new to this board and looking for some advice. My daughter is 3 1/2 months (first baby). She, of course, can't sit up in her own but enjoys being propped up w boppy pillow or on the couch. She also insists on sitting at the dinner table with us (usually on my lap) although she is still bf. she just likes to be in the thick of things.
Any one have a recommendation on the bumbo floor seat vs the Megaseat? At what age did you start using? Also, we don't have a high chair yet, but in thinking that might be a good item to buy now so that I can have two hands at mealtimes and while cooking. Would you buy both a high chair and a floor seat? Thanks!
Re: Bumbo vs Megaseat vs high chair
I definitely would buy a high chair soon. To me, the Bumbo isn't really worth the price. We don't use it often.
She still can sit in the bumbo and loves it for snack time. But she is a tiny baby and I know people who have larger babies have issues with the bumbo and the baby's legs.
We have a space saver high chair and I like it because we can just take it apart and take it when we travel and it just straps to a chair. It also converts to a booster seat for when she is bigger.
I've never heard of your 3rd item so I have nothing to add about that.
We had a big high chair w my oldest, but didn't really want to take up the space w twins. We have two FP boosters and they are awesome. Can be completely wiped down, so no food gets mushed into fabric, and can be easily unstrapped for travel.
We didn't start using them until they could essentially sit unsupported.
I think a high chair that reclines is a great way to have her safely part of dinner so you don't gave to hold her.
Plus the high chair can be used for 2+ years.

The bumbo was mostly useless for us. His thighs were too fat, for one thing, and by the time he'd lengthened out a bit and was less of a chub, he no longer needed assistance.
